Quick And Easy Spinach Cavatelli recipe

The other day I realized at the last minute I’d neglected to make hubby some dinner. He loves cavatelli, either with butter or with olive oil and seasonings. I decided to make him some. He really loves spinach, so I decided to toss that in as well. The resulting meal was super quick and easy to make. While certainly far from gourmet, he enjoyed it and appreciated the effort. Here’s how I made it.

Quick And Easy Spinach Cavatelli

INGREDIENTS

  • 1x 13 oz bag frozen cavatelli
  • 1x 14 oz can spinach
  • olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • shredded cheese (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

Boil the cavatelli.

Shortly before the cavatelli is ready heat the spinach. You can do this on the stovetop, or in the microwave like I did.

Drain the cavatelli.

Drizzle the olive oil over the cavatelli slowly and stir, until all of the cavatelli has a light coating.

Add the onion and garlic powder and stir well.

Serve with salt and pepper to taste.

You can sprinkle some shredded cheese over it if you like. Hubby said it wasn’t bad with the shredded mozzarella I put on his first serving, but much preferred it when I put some shredded cheddar on it for his second helping.

Quick and go leftovers naturally but when the frog is empty something boiled like ravioli or spaghetti, sauce, and ideally meat.

This sounds like a great solution for a busy night. When I'm short on time I grill some zucchini and make veggie pizzas.

We do something very similar, but with ramen noodles! They're so quick to make (and cheap) that we can't pass it up!
