My youngest son loves to listen to music. He takes his mp3 player and headphones on the bus with him every day to help him pass the time on the bus. Not long ago his headphones broke. I let him borrow a pair of my “good” headphones until I’d be able to replace his. Once he started using my headphones it was easy for me to determine what music he was listening to. It was easy because he’d turn them up really loud, loud enough for me to literally be able to hear the music he was listening to from across the room. That’s not healthy for his ears.
According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), it is dangerous to listen to sound that is at a level of 85 dBA for more than eight hours. At the volume increases beyond that level, the amount of time that someone can listen to it without incurring hearing loss or ear damage decreases. According to the CDC, the recommended maximum listening time at 90 dBA is only one hour, and only 30 minutes if the measured volume level is at 100 dBA. Puro Sound Labs has instituted controls for volume levels that vary according to the product. The BT-2200 wireless headphones for kids are limited to 85 dBA.

My son has been loving these headphones since I first let him try them. I tried them myself and it’s easy to understand why. The supple protein leather cups are really comfortable on the ears. I have also noticed that the cups do a great job blocking out outside noise. The headband is also made of the same leather, and it sits on top of your head quite comfortably. The sound that comes through these headphones rivals that of some of the “good” adult headphones that I’ve used in the past. The BT2200 headphones are a great choice for parents wanting their children to experience quality audio while also addressing concerns about hearing health.

These sound like awesome headphones for kids but I think I would love a pair too. lol Both my boys always listened to their music with headphones so loud that I could also hear what music they were listening to from across the room. I love that they are wireless and they block out the other noises along with their battery life which is amazing. Thanks for sharing the great review.

Protecting every one's ears from constant loud sounds is a very good idea. According to my Mom and almost every one of her friends (all 90 or better!!) --- hearing aides do not really work all that well! They all complain about them-and most of them have only age related hearing loss. I am glad you can control the volume in these head phones!

Blocking the outside noise is a good, good thing. I'm not a fan of headphones that leak sound!

I've heard that wearing headphones and listening to music can help when they do schoolwork, too!! These look like a great product...and your son was a great model! :)
