Most of the comfort foods I like require cooking. Who wants to cook up a batch of chicken corn chowder in the dark when there's no power? LOL. I made a batch of soup early Saturday afternoon, so that it would e fresh and still warm if things got bad. Everyone loves it and it was gone before the hurricane got here.

Well, if the power goes out the milk is gonna go sour so that was an odd choice :/
Eggs are a bit iffy too.

Yes, I wasn't sure what was up with the eggs, since people with electric stoves wouldn't be able to cook them if they lost power. Fortunately my house made it through with no problem, others in the area and other areas weren't as lucky.
