Comedy is definitely one of my favorite genre of movies. I especially appreciate it when a comedy isn’t completely far-fetched and has some true to life elements. Moms’ Night Out definitely incorporates some real life moments.
Moms’ Night Out is the story of three moms who are very stressed and need to unwind. Allyson is a young mother of three, shall we say, extremely busy and vocal small children. Her husband travels a lot so she feels like she is handling everything herself and she’s ready to snap. She’s started a blog but can’t seem to get her feelings down in words. Allyson’s friend Izzy is a mother to two (for now) and married to a man who’s afraid to be alone with his children. Sondra is the church pastor’s wife. Many parish members look to her for advice and support but noone has ever actually offered to socialize with her. The three women plan a night out together, ready to leave their cares behind and their children at home with their husbands.
Best laid plans… The ladies had been planning a nice dinner at a trendy restaurant. Unfortunately, Allyson made the reservation for the wrong day. So rather then go home the ladies wind up in the bowling alley across the street. Things start moving nonstop about here. Missing baby. Stolen minivan. Tattoo shop, managed by a biker named Bones (I LOVE Bones!). Emergency room visit. A trip to the jail. (Yes arrests are involved.)
Here’s a trailer.
