Most of us love the flavor of pizza. In our house we love the melty cheese, and we like meat on there too. But, the crust, sometimes it’s just too much. I thought it would be fun to see if I could put a bit of the feel and flavor of a pizza into a pot pie. I did it, and they devoured it. Here’s how I made it.
Meaty Pizza Pot Pie
Ingredients
- 2 refrigerated pie crusts
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb ground Italian sausage
- 15-16oz jar pizza sauce
- 8 oz shredded pizza cheese (mozzarella & cheddar mixture)
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- butter
- garlic powder, onion powder, parsley flakes

Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400 f.
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and the sausage.
While the beef is browning, place 1 of the crusts into a pie plate.
Add the cheese, onion powder, garlic powder, and pizza sauce to the cooked meat mixture.
Fill the bottom crust with the meat mixture.
Put the top crust on and pinch the edges together to close.
Spread a very thin layer of butter across the top crust.
Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder and parsley onto the crust.
Bake for 30 minutes.
Serve immediately as is or with a side of sauce.
