TJ is in high school now. He has to get up very early to get on the bus and isn’t always ready for breakfast before leaving. He told me that he wanted to bring some snack size foods with him, to put in his backpack and eat in homeroom or between classes. One of the foods I thought of immediately was Rice Krispies Treats. Both of my boys love Rice Krispies Treats. CJ has Celiac Disease and can’t have them but I still buy them just for TJ, along with a few other snacks that I like to get just for him. Because CJ likes them so much but can’t have them I have to hide them in the kitchen. Rice Krispies newest addition
to the product line is fun and makes leaving treats for TJ fun.
Rice Krispies Treats are now available with “Writable Packaging”. The Rice Krispies Treat itself hasn’t changed, it’s still a 90 calorie snack full of crispy, crunchy, marshmallowey goodness. It’s the wrapper that’s changed. This wrapper has space containing a writable surface where Moms (and Dads and anyone else) can leave a little message for the snacker. It’s easy to write on, just use a marker like a Sharpie and write. It is a little bumpy to write on but easy to get the hang of. Then wait a minute for it to dry, so you don’t smudge your own message while packing the lunch. That’s it!
My 14 year old is a fairly typical teenager and is not exceptionally fond of public displays of affection from Mom. I loved being able to just draw a heart on the wrapper with a little message for him. He was surprised to see it the first time, but got my message without half the world knowing it. What a great way to leave a note for your child! And they don’t have to be love notes, they can be notes of encouragement before a big test or a big game/meet or anything else you can think of. You could even pack your spouse a treat with a fun note.
So. Who do you want to leave a note for?

I was compensated for my time writing this post and Kellogg’s provided me with a package of Rice Krispies Treats to facilitate my review. Please note that the opinions reflected in this post have not been influenced by the sponsor in any way.

What a cute idea! It's amazing how much a nice note can make someone's day. Love the simplicity of it.

What a sweet idea for them to come up with. I know my boys would love to get one of those in their lunch bag!
