It was a busy weekend. I had just returned after being shipped off by hubby so I wouldn’t get into his way of his honey do list. The cupboard was bare. So imagine my delight when my oldest suggested I go out to eat for her. Time to check local Restaurant.com listings.

Destination the Jersey Grille, Manasquan. Just imagine a restaurant that uses only organic beef, chicken, and produce, fish wild not farm raised, nothing frozen, makes everything it serves, AND has good food. Eating healthy–meaning fresh, less carbs, less fried–does not have to mean bland, tasteless.

Call this restaurant’s open kitchen and window views bright, cheerful, homey.

BYOB, gluten free options, and senior discounts, wow!

Thankfully this place is no quick greasy spoon drive through. Time for beginning. Once cup of onion soup au gratin for me along with a complaint from hubby that side salads were not available for lunch along with a meal. On to the main course. My Applewood bacon, lettuce, tomato, provolone BLT on toasted marble rye along with JG’s own fresh potato salad was perfect.

Hubby’s half pound Kobe burger on a Kaiser roll, macaroni salad (another JG made side), and fresh cut skin-on salt and pepper boardwalk fries excelled.

We truly had our order our way. Individual dipping cups of tried and true catsup, mustard, and mayo along with new ones filled with chipotle sauce, tangy carolina bbq sauce, horseradish sour cream, and cinnamon marshmallow…new, exciting, something for every taste.

They made our hand battered fresh cut sweet onion garlic rings and fresh cut sweet potato fries exactly what our taste buds preferred.

Our server had warned us to save room for a special dessert. This particular bananas foster was not what we expected. Still it did not disappoint although topped with vanilla ice cream it would have been even better. What a lip smacking meal!

Jersey Grille beverage selections include Coke products, bottled water, iced teas, Gatorade, Pellegrino, and old fashioned milkshakes. Hubby orders Coca Cola but I request an Arnold Palmer. Two thumbs up for the extra mile our waitress goes to specially make me one. Another two thumbs up for her keeping our glasses filled from the time we entered to the time we left. Obliging service, variety, generous portions, and homemade taste make everything truly special.
Open Monday-Thursday 11 A. M.-9 P. M., Friday 11 A. M.-10 P. M., Saturday 11 A.M.-10 P. M., and Sunday 9 A. M.-9 P. M., Jersey Grille is located at 2410 Highway 35N, Manasquan, New Jersey 08736. It’s lots more than burgers, sandwiches, and salad lunches. Its dinner menu includes a wide variety of chicken, beef, seafood, and pasta entries. Its weekend breakfast/brunch includes eggs, omelettes, french toast, pancakes, and crepes.
