I’m feeling old

We'd love it if you shared it!

Or, an alternate title, my son wants to start dating.
Yesterday, in some odd sort of way of celebrating Valentine’s Day, my son asked a girl out on what I would have to call a date for the very first time. He says there have been other dates in the past but I wouldn’t count them as dates and that’s a whole separate story. Anyway. I knew he was planning something but he hadn’t told me specifically. He did fill me in when he got home though. Apparently he was going to ask her at the end of the day on the way to the buses. Outside he waited for her but didn’t see her. His friend, who’d been watching because he wanted to see the whole thing transpire, saw the girl had gotten past my son and waved him to come over. According to my son he reached her just before she got on the bus, and asked her if she’d go out for pizza with him tomorrow (which meant today). She told him she didn’t know and then got on the bus. I told him she probably had to discuss it with her parents. So today when he came home from school I asked him what she’d said and he said she hadn’t answered him. I wonder how long he’ll wait for her to answer and if he’s planning on asking again. He won’t talk about it with me right now because one of his friends has come over for a sleep over. Maybe tomorrow.

How old is your son? Our 13 year old is madly in lurve currently. The minute he gets home from school, he's on the phone to her. Then later on in the evening, it's msn all the way!

Azh - My son is 12 and growing up too fast. He thinks it's crazy that I told him he shouldn't date until he's 30.

It seems to be the season for boys to want to start dating, my little brother is doing the same thing, my mom is not very happy about it. She thinks 14 is too young to date. It seems that they just grow up so quick.

I have tagged you for the Crazy 8's meme check out my blog for more details.

Holly - I think today's 12 is my generation's 16. I will try to do the meme but I'll need a couple of days.
