Lots of people that camp enjoy being close to nature. Not me. I am not really the outdoors type of person. have never had the desire to sleep outdoors or in a tent. I have no yen to sleep on the ground. When I camp I camp it’s in a camper.
I’m currently on our annual camping trip in upstate New York. My parents have been camping at this campground for almost twenty years now and I’ve been here for almost all of them. My parents first camper was an old 72 Dodge rv. They kept that camper until it died and replaced it with a tiny Coachman travel trailer that slept four. After one trip of feeling like sardines they decided to go back to an rv and got a Seven Seas. By then I had my own family and we needed out own place to camp so we bought the tiny travel trailer. My parents had put a small microwave in it and we brought a small tv along. It was basically one small and uncomfortable room, but we made it work.
A couple of years ago I’d had enough of feeling like a sardine so we said goodbye to the tiny trailer. I found a terrific deal on a much larger 26.5 foot trailer. It’s got a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, a small living room-ish area with a futon. There’s a television in the bedroom (with a dvd player) and the living room, as well as a microwave and an apartment sized fridge. We can now camp comfortably without being on top of each other, and have even managed to bring along a guest two years in a row now. I’m told that the way I camp isn’t really camping. I enjoy it this way.
For those of you that camp, how do you camp?

All in my teen years I went camping with my grandparents. We had a 24 ft Winnebago. That was the only kind of camping that I would consider. It is just safer. It is so nice to have your own bathroom (that you know is clean), can cook your own food (which I know you keep the hubby happy with), and sleep in a nice bed.

I understand as I hate port-a-potties and like my creature comforts.
