Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use a bread other than white bread?
Yes, maybe, and it depends LOL. To successfully make Homemade Uncrustables and have the sandwich press work you’ll need to use a very fresh, soft and squishy bread. Using a super thick and firm bread, like some rye breads for example, won’t work very well. There are a number of white breads, potato breads and wheat breads that are certainly soft enough to use to make Homemade Uncrustables.
Can I freeze these?
Yes! You can make homemade Uncrustables ahead of time and store them in the freezer. Take frozen Homemade Uncrustables out of the freezer a couple of hours before you will be eating them. You can take them out of the freezer before bed if you will be eating them in the morning, or early in the morning if you’re having them for a lunch later on.
