I’ve learned a fair amount about DNA over the years. Sort of comes with the territory when you have a child with an extra chromosome. Some people are very into the concept of DNA testing. I came across the following infographic, which has some very basic info on DNA testing. There is much more to DNA testing then any one infographic can show or tell you. As such, if DNA testing is something you are considering for some reason you should definitely speak with health professionals such as your physician at length before doing any at home tests. Explain to them in detail what you want to know. They may be able to answer for you. If not they can tell you exactly what things a DNA test can and cannot tell you with certainty.

I first heard about these home kits a few years back. but had no idea that the home tests allowed you to test genetics too. This is good to know!

It's so cool this can be done at home now. Makes it so much easier I'm sure.

Testing means more than confirming parenthood. It shows the reality of genetic possibilities.
