Get In The Kitchen Bit@hes Cookbook Review And Giveaway

We'd love it if you shared it!

I have a thing for cookbooks. I love them. I like to just browse through them – it’s like window shopping for a meal. They’re terrific books, but aren’t usually terribly humorous. When I heard the name of the cookbook “Get In The Kitchen Bit@hes” I just had to giggle. I also had to check it out.

Get In The Kitchen Bit@hes isn’t your ordinary cookbook. It even tells you so on the cover, by warning the reader that “this ain’t your Grandma’s cookbook”. Now before I go any further I will tell you that if the “b” word bothers you then this book isn’t for you. Now that that’s out of the way, let me tell you the rest of my thoughts on this cookbook.

The book was written with a slightly warped sense of humor. You can tell the author likes to have fun from the pictures, which some will find somewhat risque. The recipe ratings crack me up. The middle rating is “the little chef that could” and the hardest recipes are rated “Are you fu%@king kidding me?’. Having had similar thoughts when trying new recipes I found these dead on accurate. Each of the recipes are accompanied with an S&M section. No, that doesn’t stand for sadomasochism silly, it stand for sides and more. There are also tips and suggestions scattered throughout the book. Recipe ingredients and directions are clearly written and easy to understand. Even the more challenging recipes appear to be possible to make, even for a novice. Speaking of the recipes, the recipe names don’t have your ordinary plain vanilla titles. Dishes like Pull My Finger Pork, Miso Honey Stir Fry and Chicken With Fungus just make you curious, don’t they?

The cookbook contains 52 recipes in categories including

  • Entrees
  • Appetizers
  • Sides
  • Meal and Luncheon Salads
  • Soups and Stews
  • Homemade Salad Dressings

There are also chapters with ideas on how to use prepared foods as a base that’s called “So, Too Damn Lazy To Start from Scratch, Huh?. I laughed when I saw that, it’s so true! There’s also a chapter encouraging creativity with leftovers – “Learning To Love Your Leftovers”.

Get In The Kitchen Bit@hes can be purchased online at www.bitchcooks.com and sells for $12.95. It’d make a great gift for anyone with a sense of humor, cookbook collectors and novice cooks.

You can also find Get In the Kitchen Bit@hes on Facebook.
