Garage Sales - A Great Way To Declutter And Make Some Cash

Why have a garage sale?

If you have a lot of things that you no longer use or want, consider having a garage sale. There is no reason for you to go on storing items you’ll never use. Having a garage sale is a great way to declutter, get rid of unwanted items, and make some money. You see, holding a garage sale provides an outlet for unwanted items, items which other people are looking for, and will pay good money for.

Examples of such items are: furniture, toys, vacuums, lawn mowers, jewelry, baseball cards, camping equipment, dishes, dolls, coins, toasters, toys, clothes, small appliances, hair dryers, coffee pots, old records, bikes, furniture, pictures, books, sporting equipment, televisions, video games, bags, CDs, tape recorders, household tools, and any other items that you have no use for anymore.

Wondering if you have the right place to have a garage sale? A garage sale can be held anywhere – yard, lawn, basement, garage, porch, or house. Garage sales likely got their name from people setting up a sale inside of their garage. A yard sale and a garage sale are basically the same thing, with a yard sale being held outside in a yard.

Now that you know you don’t need a garage in order to have a garage sale, there are other things you need to know including how to organize a garage sale, how to set pricing, and how to have the most successful sales day possible.

You can make some money and declutter your life by having a yard sale. In coming days I’ll be sharing lots of helpful information that can help you prepare for your garage sale so be sure to check back.

Almost–collected and was ready but the weather, permits, and partner in sale never got in sync.

I wish we could have one whenever but we have to do them the days of the year our HOA says. SO annoying!

My friends and I used to gather all the stuff we didn’t want (actually, our parents’ stuff they might not notice we took lol) and sell them at a group garage sale. It was fun and we made $$$. I think it’s time to do it again now that we’re adults.

I totally agree with you. Garage sales are a very effective way to de-clutter. Old toys, duplicate items, pre-loved clothing, shoes and bags. I think we set one up every two months!

This is a great way to earn extra cash. In my neighborhood, this is a common sight. Sometimes we do swap meets too. I think the last time I set up a garage sale was 6 months ago. I think we should do another one soon. Extra cash for Christmas shopping would be nice.

Yard sales are the best! We have a neighborhood yard saw every year. We always make a bit of money from it

I used to go to garage sales when I was in the city! I also held a few the year before we moved. I was able to get rid of a lot of clutter.
