We love garlic bread. I’ve managed to make some in the past that was ok but generally I’ve bought the frozen if I wanted it to taste good. This year for Easter I was determined to make homemade garlic bread that tasted good. And I succeeded. Even my son told me it was good, better then frozen. Yay me! Here’s how I made it.
EASY HOMEMADE GARLIC BREAD
INGREDIENTS
- 1 loaf Italian bread
- 1 stick of butter (lightly salted)
- 1 tbsp refrigerated minced garlic (you can add more if you really like garlic)
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp parsley flakes
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 f.
Slice loaf of bread in half, horizontally.

Placethe garlic in a bowl and use a spoon to break it up and flatten it.
Add the butter to the bowl and microwave for about 45-55 seconds, until the butter is very soft but not liquified.
Add in other ingredients and mix well.

Spoon mixture onto the bread.

Spread mixture evenly over both pieces of bread.

Bake for about 15 minutes on the middle rack, until the top is golden brown. You can bake another 2-3 minutes longer if you prefer your garlic bread crispy.

Remove from oven and serve immediately.

I really don't understand people who 1. either buy the garlic sauce in a jar or something to throw on their bread, or 2. either buy garlic bread in the grocery bakery section or frozen. It is so darn easy to make!! Also, I always add Parmesan to our garlic bread.

I've never really understood why people buy prepped garlic bread.
