MY THOUGHTS

We enjoyed this DVD. The DVD centers on food and cooking. I love Cookie Monster (and cookies) as much as the next girl, but I thought it was fun to see the characters learning about and promoting vegetables. Sure, they still mentioned cookies, but they also mentioned other foods like oatmeal and bread. I liked that the DVD explained what a recipe is. I thought the “eat your colors game” was a fun way to help introduce and reinforce the concept of eating different foods from different food groups. My favorite part, by far, was when Big Bird was making cookies and he called the dough “gunk”, and we learned that the recipe would yield “a nestful” of cookies. This video would be a great for any Sesame Street fan.

Diet and nutrition should begin early and this sounds like one way to expose children to food facts.

This C IS For Cooking DVD sounds delightful for Sesame Street fans young and old. I also like the emphasis on veggies and healthy cooking, as well as making and trying food from different cultures.
