What a terrific prize! I could so use a new refrigerator. And a year supply of cottage cheese. We all eat cottage cheese in this house. Since I had bariatric surgery in April it’s one of my mainstays. It’s tasty, filling and has protein. I’d had Daisy Sour Cream before but never their cottage cheese so I was more than thrilled to receive some samples.

Daisy Cottage Cheese is new, introduced earlier this year. It’s offered in both low fat (2 percent) and regular (4 percent) varieties and contains only all-natural ingredients – no preservatives and no added hormones. Both varieties are labeled small curd and come in 16 and 24 ounce containers. The lowfat 2% style has 90 calories per half cup serving, with only 2.5 grams of fat, 10 milligrams of cholesterol and 14 grams of protein. The regular 4% style has 110 calories per half cup serving, with 5 grams of fat, 15 milligrams of cholesterol and 14 grams of protein.
I received samples of both the 2% and the 4%. RB thought it was excellent and that both styles tasted exactly the same. I thought it was excellent, probably the best lowfat cottage cheese I’ve had to date. I liked that it wasn’t too dry or too soupy, it was just wet enough. I found that while both flavors were similar the 4% seemed a little bit sweeter. I recommend both highly, they’re exceptionally tasty.
Daisy Brand Cottage Cheese can be found in grocery stores and super centers in select markets. In addition, all U.S. military commissaries carry the products. I went to my local Target to buy some more and was very disappointed to find that they don’t currently offer it. That stinks! Visit www.FreshenUpYourFridge.com to find out if it’s available in your area. If it isn’t, Daisy Brand continues to add cottage cheese to new markets, so keep a look out. I’ll be watching and waiting for it to become available in my area.

Daisy makes the best sour cream around, but I was highly disappointed with their cottage cheese. There was something off with the texture... the "creamy whey" that is part of cottage cheese was gritty rather than silky, and this was off-putting, and then the actual curds were strange-looking. They didn't look irregular like would be in natural cottage cheese, but like they were pre-shaped little balls made by a machine. Totally weird. And considering I tried the 2%, I expected a much creamier taste, as I'm used to eating the fat-free variety of cottage cheese. Sad to say, Daisy missed the boat on this one.

Sorry to hear you were disappointed, mine wasn't like that. Others that I really like are Axelod Chunky and Target.

I haven't seen it around here either, I will definately keep a look out. I eat it with fruit in the summer time, bathing suit weather. It's the only brand of sour cream I buy - have some in the fridge right now. :-)
Thanks for the review.

Mom - Yes they do, they carry that in most of our grocery stores. Not the cottage cheese though, I'm waiting for Target to carry that. Love you. - Val
