EGGY, CHEESY, TOASTY — YUMMY!

Everyone loves a hot, satisfying breakfast sandwich. And thanks to the convenient new at home breakfast sandwich makers you can whip up one of these mouth-watering handheld meals in minutes! Whether you’re looking for an old favorite or interested in trying something new, the imaginative recipes in this book utilize the wildly popular sandwich makers for the most delicious egg sandwiches ever.

I’ve always liked breakfast. I’ve always liked breads, along with other yummy carbs like waffles, pancakes and muffins. A go-to breakfast (and late-night snack) in our house is pork roll, egg and cheese on a bagel. We’re always open to trying new breakfast sandwiches out in restaurants. When I was offered the opportunity to try the Crazy For Breakfast Sandwiches cookbook I couldn’t say no.

Chapters include:

  • Classic Sandwiches and Beyond
  • Meatless Mornings
  • Healthy Starts
  • Dressed-Up Brunch Sandwiches
  • Not-For-Breakfast Sammies
  • Open-Faced Meals
  • Make-Ahead Components
  • Desserts

The beginning of the book offers tips on what you’ll need to make breakfast sandwiches, how to make them, and even some suggestions on what foods to have leftovers of. Then come the recipes.

The bulk of the book contains sandwich recipes, with each recipe making one sandwich. The recipes are all easy to understand. They call for ordinary ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen, and if you don’t they can be easily obtained at the grocery store. Cooking time is hidden away in the recipe, I hope that in a future edition they place it where it stands out, since it’s one of the two things I use to help me determine what recipe I’m going to try. Speaking of that, the second thing is photos. This cookbook has no photos whatsoever, with the exception of the one on the cover. Perhaps they knew how much I like a good breakfast sandwich and omitted them in fear that I’d drool all over the pages.

There’s a good range of recipes in this cookbook, here are just a few.

Classic:

•Ham & Egg English Muffin
•Lox & Cream Cheese Bagel
•Sausage & Cheese Biscuit

Creative:
•Chicken & Waffles
•Canadian Bacon & Pineapple
•Peanut Butter & Banana

Healthy:
•Tomato & Swiss
•Turkey & Egg Whites
•Spinach & Feta

Gourmet:
•Herb Pancakes with Prosciutto
•Crumpets with Smoked Salmon
•Croissant with Ham & Brie

There are lots of recipes in this cookbook I’d like to try making. This cookbook would be great for anyone interested in breakfast sandwiches, or sandwiches in general. And if the person has a sandwich maker they’ll probably really like it. I don’t have one and this cookbook did make me wonder if I wanted one.

I love a nice duo of eggs fried in olive oil, on potato bread, with a big slice of tomato and a couple of slices of bacon - yummy!
