MY THOUGHTS
I received a copy of The Ultimate Cake Mix Cookie Book. Chapters include Drop Cookies, Bar Cookies, and Form And Filled Cookies. The intro at the beginning of the book gives lots of helpful explanation on different kinds of mixes, common ingredients and typically used equipment. Each of the recipes clearly state what kind of cookie mix is used, as well as what other ingredients and equipment/supplies are needed. I love that many of the recipes also include suggestions for possible variations. The recipes are well written and easy to understand. There are two things I think the book is missing. Photos – a good photo makes you want to cook and eat, it also helps me know what something is supposed to look like when it’s finished. Prep and cooking time – invaluable information to have when you’re determining what recipe to make. This book would be great for anyone that enjoys baking as well as anyone that wants some easy ways to make cookies without doing it from scratch.

I too prefer cookbooks with photos and prep times. Definitely something the author should consider adding to the next edition.

I like a little help sometimes, a cake mix sure is a lot more simple than making from scratch.
