I received a Boxed gift card in order to facilitate this post. Please note that, as always, any personal opinions reflected in this post are my own and have not been influenced in any way.

I had surgery this past Tuesday. What was supposed to be a same day procedure turned into a 5-day hospital stay. My orders upon being discharged were to take it easy. Sometimes that’s just easier said then done, right? I am the one who does the shopping in this house. Things will not replace themselves, no matter how poorly I might be feeling. We’d run out of a couple of things, including napkins and paper plates. These are things I usually get at the local wholesale club. There were other items that were going to need replenishment soon that I also get at the local wholesale club. The problem was, I wasn’t supposed to drive yet. What did I do? I used Boxed.
Boxed is a convenient, hassle-free way to enjoy the warehouse club experience from a smartphone or tablet! And unlike warehouse clubs, there’s no membership fee! Boxed offers a large variety of items including household items, paper products, health and beauty items, cleaning items, pet items, and even food. Many of the items are the same or very similar in size to those that you find in the warehouse club.
Consumers can shop Boxed with the user-friendly app or from a computer. I browsed the site to see what they had. Within minutes I’d found many of the things I needed. First up was the paper goods. I found a package of 800 Bounty Quilted Napkins and a package of 300 Dixie Disposable Paper Plates. My youngest has gone several weeks now with almost no #2 accidents. He’s been trying very hard and is doing a great job. For him I like to have the flushable wipes. When I saw the box of 504 Flushable Moist Wipes I had to order them!
I ordered some food items too. Gluten-free mashed potatoes are a staple in my house. The Boxed version of Idahoan Buttery Homestyle Mashed Potatoes came with 4 resealable pouches in the box, something I definitely appreciate since we make lots of single servings. Oreos are another staple in my house. I only buy the club size bo that you find in the warehouse clubs. Boxed had them. My oldest loves Kraft Mac & Cheese. I found a box of 15 that was a lot less expensive then the grocery store price. He also loves Goldfish. I found a box containing 3 resealable bags. Something I found that I hadn’t expected to find was a Taco Bell Party pack. I’d never seen one before. I snapped that right up, knowing how much my oldest loves Taco Bell.
I found pricing to be right in line with local warehouse clubs. As you shop, and add items to your cart, you can see the savings over regular grocery store retail prices, which I found to be pretty accurate.
I don’t know about you but I have found myself waiting on line at one warehouse club for what seemed like an eternity. Or at least a couple of days. Boxed orders are delivered right to your doorstep in 2 days or less, and there’s no time-consuming wait on a long checkout line! Delivery is free for orders over $100 and costs $6.99 for anything below that amount.
After I placed my order I was given a referral code (shown above). Anyone who signs up for Boxed with that code will get a $20 discount. And I’ll get a $10 after their first delivery. That’s a win-win situation!
My order arrived super quickly. Everything was packed neatly in Boxed boxes. It was great to have the delivery man bring them to the door. I had to smile when I realized how nice it was not to have to carry all that stuff from the store to my car, and then from my car into my house. The door-to-door delivery was super convenient! I can see where Boxed would be very helpful for people on the go, folks who have no car, vacationers in a timeshare who don’t have access to robust transportation, and people unable to drive for other reasons (such as recovering from surgery).
What sort of items do you usually purchase at a warehouse club?

Wow, that's a pretty cool service! I'm sorry your "easy" surgery turned into a debacle. I hope you're okay now? When I get a chance to shop at a big box store, I generally go for things like paper products, dairy (especially cheese and sour cream, for a good discount), and specialty meat products. Oh, and books. Can't forget the books!

That sucks you had to stay in the hospital longer than expected! Boxed sounds like a really cool company!

First I want to say I am glad you are home and getting better. I am so sorry things did not go as planned for your surgery. I love this. I was just at our wholesale club today and telling my oldest son that the savings was not worth the wait in line to check out. I am definitely checking this out - the free delivery is nice and who does not spend $100 on groceries?
