I received an all expenses paid trip to Kissimmee, Florida to attend the Decade of Memories Event from Experience Kissimmee. No monetary compensation has been received. As always, any personal opinions expressed are my own and have not been influenced by the sponsor in any way.
You may recall that back in June I shared a post about my visit to Kissimmee, Florida. I traveled there for my friend Jen at The Mom Reviews, for the reveal of the winner of the Kissimmee Decade Of Memories Contest. While in Kissimmee, we did a lot of fun things, some of which I’ll be sharing with you. One of the most memorable things was riding an airboat, at Boggy Creek Airboat Rides.
When you arrive at Boggy Creek Airboat Rides, you first check in. This is where you get an idea of what the gator forecast for the day is.
It’s also where you’ll get a bit of an idea of how big a gator is.
Once you’re checked in, you head outside.
This is a closer look at one of the airboats.
Once on board your boat, you’ll be asked to wear a protective headset. Airboats are very loud!
Now, you’re ready to head out!
While out on the 30 minute airboat ride, your guide takes you through the Everglades. Our guide really got the boat moving at times, kicking up quite a spray at about 45 mph. He also stopped on a number of occasions to show us different things including baby and adult alligators and different species of birds. We even saw a cow and a couple of cats! Wild, huh!
Here’s a brief video I took while out on the airboat.
After the airboat ride, we went to another part of the grounds, where we got to get up close and personal with a baby gator. He was really cute! He didn’t feel nearly as dry or scaly as I expected him to feel.
I had a great time at Boggy Creek Airboat Rides. It’s a great way to spend an afternoon and make a new memory! It’s also a great way to experience and enjoy nature’s beauty while having some fun!
Boggy Creek Airboat Rides is open 364 days out of the year, with tours leaving approximately every 30 minutes.
