There’s Still Time To Enjoy #Rumtoberfest At Bahama Breeze

We'd love it if you shared it!

A complimentary meal was provided. Please note that, as always, any personal opinions reflected in this post are my own.

Rumtoberfest At Bahama Breeze

Tomorrow is Monday. So many of us are wishing the weekend hadn’t passed by so quickly. Many folks are already planning what they’ll be doing next weekend. How does a fun night out with good food, live music and fortune tellers sound? I think it sounds like it could make for a really fun night. If you’re in agreement with me, you won’t have to go too far to get it. You only need to go to your nearby Bahama Breeze restaurant.

Rumtoberfest At Bahama Breeze

Throughout the month of October, and continuing through November 8, Rumtoberfest is taking place at Bahama Breeze locations across the country. If you enjoy rum or don’t have much experience with it, this celebration of the Bahamas’ local culture and rum is the right place for you. Many of us share the opinion that Friday nights are a great time to kick back and relax with friends, and to start the weekend off in a festive mood. While the Rumtoberfest celebration takes place each and every day, there are also special Rumbashes that take place on Fridays. Rumbashes feature live music and fortune tellers. They also give you the ability to familiarize yourself with different rums through rum and rum cocktail flights.

Rumtoberfest At Bahama Breeze

A week ago I dined at Bahama Breeze for the first time. We went to the location in Toms River. While I wasn’t able to get there on a Friday, there was no shortage of atmosphere. There were palm trees in the restaurant, and a large umbrella top. Our party of three was seated immediately.

We took a few minutes to decide what beverages we wanted. There were a number of delicious sounding rum cocktails on the menu and my Mom and I both like rum cocktails so it was a tough choice. In the end we went with the Ultimate Pina Colada and the Strawberry Daiquiri.

Our drinks were brought out quickly and we given menus. It didn’t take long to make our selections.

Mom started with a Jumbo Lump Crab Stack. This lovely looking dish consists of premium jumbo lump crabmeat stacked high with chilled shrimp, avocado and fresh mango.

Then it was time for our entrees.

Mom got fried lobster. The staff graciously made several changes to her dish, which in the end left her with green beans, mashed sweet potatoes and plantains.

I chose the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Breast. This dish was absolutely delicious. The portion was huge, and I brought home enough leftovers to make another three meals for myself. The dish has buttermilk fried chicken served with melted cheese over a bed of mashed potatoes. The dish usually comes layered with spinach, but I did request to have that removed.

Our third got a BBQ Bacon & Cheese Burger, which is glazed with a signature sweet and smoky barbeque sauce, Applewood-smoked bacon, and crisp fried onion strings on a toasted brioche bun.  The staff was more than accommodating, omitting the cole slaw and switching out the pepper-jack cheese that it usually comes with to a milder cheddar.

We enjoyed our meal at a leisurely pace. Then it was time for dessert.

Mom had the Banana Nut Bread Supreme, which is sliced bananas with vanilla ice cream on warm banana nut bread topped with hot butterscotch brandy sauce.

I had the Chocolate Island, which is a rich chocolate mousse on a fudge brownie island served in chocolate sauce and vanilla bean anglaise.

Every bit of food we had was really tasty. Dan the manager and all of his staff were pleasant and attentive. While I would enjoy seeing what it was like on a Friday during a Rumbash, the atmosphere was still casual and fun. We enjoyed our visit to Bahama Breeze and will be returning in the future.

That chocolate island is ridiculous!!! I'm all for rumtober since rum is my favorite cocktail liquor. I can't wait to get in there!

The banana nut bread supreme looks scrumptious. That and some run would work for me :)

That food looks absolutely amazing. I wish we had a Bahama Breeze here in Canada. I would for sure be heading on over, that looks awesome.

I grew up in Orlando very close to the first Bahama Breeze and it was always my favorite place to go. Looks like they haven't lost their touch! yum!

When this restaurant first opened someone said it was not worth the trip. Foolish person; wrong advice. The meal and the service excelled. I enjoyed myself thoroughly and, like Napoleon, promise to return.
