I have always enjoyed a good burger. To me, a good burger is fresh and juicy and tastes flavorful. I’ve eaten at Applebee’s many times and enjoy the food. Recently, Applebee’s introduced something new – the All-In Burger.
The Applebee’s All-In Burger really packs the flavor in. It does that by literally packing the burger full of tasty toppings. Basically, they add some ingredients to the ground beef before cooking, which sears the flavor into the beef. Then, when the burgers have been cooked to suit your taste, they are topped with some more ingredients and served on a brioche bun.
There are four varieties of the All-In Burger, including:
- American Standard – A new take on the classic cheeseburger, pickles, bacon and onion are seared in and topped with signature sauce and American cheese
- Triple Bacon – Any bacon lover’s dream, this burger has bacon seared in and adds, you guessed it, more bacon, BBQ bacon ranch and cheddar cheese on top for the finishing touches
- Sweet Asian Pineapple – This spicy-sweet burger has sweet, juicy pineapple seared in and is topped off with spicy Sweet Asian Chile sauce and Jack cheese
- Mushroom Swiss – Portobello and button mushrooms are seared in for flavor and topped with smoky mayo and Swiss cheese
This past weekend we went to the nearby Applebee’s in Brick. It was packed! The wait was about 25 minutes. I know the wait can be avoided in many situations by using online ordering via Carside to Go pickup. But, we don’t get to all see other that much and we get to go out as a family even less, so I thought it would be fun to eat at the restaurant. Part of the reason the atmosphere at our local Applebee’s is because of it’s community theme. The walls are covered with photos and memorabilia from local high schools and universities, professional and college sports teams and community groups. Some of the local schools and organizations featured include Brick Township and Brick Memorial High Schools, Georgian Court University, Ocean County College, Jenkinson’s Boardwalk and Aquarium, Ocean County Fair, Brick Whalers Youth Hockey, Brick Mat Rats-Youth Hockey and Bretton Woods Fire Department and Brick Police Department. If you’ve lived in an area long enough, as I have, you might even find photos of people you know. Many Applebee’s are switching to this community-themed concept. Once we were seated we met our server Zack, who was super friendly.

We wound up ordering three of the new All-In Burgers. Two of the American Standard and one of the Triple Bacon. All-In Burgers all come with a side of fries. You can choose from their tasty classic fries, or mix things up a bit and go for their BBQ-Spiced Fries. Two of us went with the Classic Fries and one with the BBQ-Spiced.
Our order didn’t take long to arrive at our table. They were quite generously sized. The burgers looked pretty similar to the pictures on the menu, something I always take to be a good sign. I had ordered the Triple Bacon. Bacon abounded in this bad boy! Bacon inside, bacon on top. I ordered it medium rare, which it was. It was very flavorful and juicy. I’ve had many bacon cheeseburgers before and the flavor on this was just one step beyond those. My hubby and my son had chosen to go with the American Standard. They ordered theirs to be cooked medium, which they were. Hubby loves onions on his burger and was quite pleased to find they made his burger flavorful without being totally overpowering. Both he and my son loved that the burger had a very cheesy flavor. We all agreed that the burgers were very flavorful and that we’d definitely order them again next time we wanted a burger.
If you enjoy a cocktail with your meal you’ll also be interested to know that Applebee’s is expanding its craft beer selection to add to its existing lineup of specialty cocktails. The assortment varies by location.
