There hasn’t been a Thomas toy yet that my son hasn’t loved. When I learned that Learning Curve had released a new line of toys called Early Engineers I was curious to see what CJ thought of it.

Easy to set-up and easy to play, Thomas Wooden Railway Early Engineers Roundabout Station is a great starter set for eager engineers! With simple features and larger engines, the Roundabout Station Set lets little engineers pick up and deliver passengers in a fun-filled playset. The set includes a Thomas Engine, two destinations, track and molded track layout with wooden tracktiles and two accessories. Early Engineers Sets are 100 percent compatible with the rest of the Thomas Wooden Railway. Ages: 18M and up. SRP: $24.99

The Roundabout Station Set includes Tracktile, Maithwaite Station, Thomas, crossing gate, spinning cargo and two track connectors. The train is solid and chunky, a little bit chunkier than the regular wooden railway trains.The pieces are all very sturdy and solid and they’re easy for young hands to work with. My son’s had fine motor skill issues for years and he was able to work with these quite comfortably. We found that the tracktiles were easy to work with (for both child and adult hands) and stayed together better than we thought they would. What I like best about it, aside from watching my son play with it beaming from ear to ear, is that these pieces can also be used with the regular wooden track sets. I think it’s great that a quality, family friendly toy that children and parents love can be reused as a child ages as well as for other generations.
