When my kids were little, there was one thing that I always didn’t have enough of… blankets. It seemed they were always dirty from spit up, dragging on the ground, or just being used. I loved having blankets. It wasn’t until my middle child was born that I was introduced to the fabulous product called Swaddle Designs.

I used the swaddle blankets exclusively with my younger daughter. What I love about them is that they are breathable, are a great value, are a wonderful size to swaddle or cover, and last forever. When I say they last forever, I mean it! I have Swaddle blankets that are 8 years old and they are only getting better with each wash! I used them when the girls were younger and we still use them today.

With the set we received, there is a marquisette blanket which is a lighter weight for warmer weather or indoors when it is a warm temperature. There is also a light flannel blanket for use in cool to moderate temperatures. You may feel these blankets and wonder how they can keep your child warm because they are so thin and soft, but trust me when I say, they really do! I even use them on my lap when I need to just cover up and get a little heat.

The best thing I think I can say about the Swaddle Designs blankets is that they are often recommended by pediatricians, nurses, doulas, and newborn care instructors. My youngest daughter spent 32 days in the hospital when she was a year old. We used the Swaddle blankets on her every day. The nurses loved them because they were breathable and didn’t overheat her little body. They were the perfect blanket to use in the ICU and, I believe, all the time.

I have a dear friend that is having a baby soon. I plan on giving her Swaddle Designs as a gift. When I know that a product will last a long time, be useful, and will be loved by the parent, I always buy them it. Swaddle Designs fit that description. I know that these blankets will be a welcome addition to their home, and as a mom of 5 (soon to be 6), there isn’t anything else that I think she would want but the thing most moms need… a good quality, breathable, long-lasting blanket!

Here’s a complete product description.

All three of my kids loved being swaddled when they were little. A good blanket definitely helped make the wrapping process easier.

I had two babies that loved to be swaddled and one that hated it. But it is such a good gift to give new parents, because most babies love to be warm and cozy in a swaddle blanket.
