MY THOUGHTS
I saw this movie once many years ago, so seeing it now was a great opportunity to watch it with fresh, older eyes. It’s a wonderful story. Oliver is a stray kitten alone and hungry on the streets of New York City. Dodger, a stray dog living on the streets, promises to help Oliver find food. Dodger helps Oliver find food and then takes off with it for himself, leaving Oliver alone and hungry again. Oliver finds his courage and follows Dodger and demands he give the food back. Other street dogs take to Oliver and decide to help him survive. As they are street dogs with no humans to care for them, this often means stealing food. Oliver winds up with a young girl named Jenny. After Jenny is kidnapped Oliver and all of his friends must fight to save her and bring her back home. This movie is a must have for Disney movie collectors and fans of all ages.
