If you or someone in your family is on a gluten-free diet then you probably know that reading packages isn’t always simple. With someone watching my son a few times per month, I find it very important that there’s gluten-free foods that my son enjoys on-hand. So, I’ve started doing some freezer cooking. This particular dish tastes very much like a Hamburger Helper. My son loves its flavor. I love how easy it is to make and store, as well as how easy it is to thaw and serve. Here’s how to make it.
One-Pot Gluten-free Hamburger Helper Recipe
INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb ground beef
- 3 cups beef broth
- 3 cups milk
- 4 cups gluten-free pasta (I use a box of Schar tagliatelle)
- 4 oz shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- salt and pepper to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
Place ground beef in a large skillet and brown.
Add all ingredients but the cheese over the beef.
Bring to a boil.
Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Add the cheese and stir.
Serve immediately with salt and pepper to taste, or cool and store.
I split this up and stored it in several 24oz square Ziploc containers. To defrost I heated from frozen in microwave for 5 minutes.
FYI. This recipe doesn’t have to be gluten-free, so if you want to make it with regular pasta go right ahead.

Your titl;er confused me. I thought that perhaps the HH brand had come out with a product for those needing gluten-free.
