I am moving past my fear of the grill. I figured out the basics on how to use it. I can light it. I can turn it off. I am so proud of myself! I can make burgers with no problem. Now it’s time to learn how to cook other things on it. A few days ago I got a couple of 1 pound packages of ground chicken on sale for $1.49. I had one left and had to use it. I was making cheeseburgers for my oldest and decided to try using the chicken. I made BBQ Bacon Chicken Burgers. We were very pleased with the results, and will definitely be making them again. It took 15 minutes from start to finish to make the mixture and cook. They are so easy to make! And, the burgers were actually tender and juicy too. Here’s how I made them.
BBQ Bacon Chicken Burger
INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 2 tbsp crumbled bacon
- 3 tbsp BBQ sauce
- 1-2 oz shredded cheddar or 1 slice of cheese per patty (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
Place chicken, bacon and BBQ sauce in a bowl and mix together.
If adding the shredded cheddar do that now as well.

Form 4 patties.

Place patties on heated grill. (This presumes the grill is already warmed up, if not you need to do that.)
Cook on medium-high until done, which was about 10 minutes or a little less.
If adding the slice of cheese do that a minute before removing the patties from the grill.

Serve on hamburger bun with desired condiments.

Anything and everything hubby decides to make since it means no cooking for me--just shopping and cleaning up of course.
