Who doesn’t want to enjoy a tasteful holiday season? From festive entertaining to thoughtful gift giving, it’s the time of year when we try to find just the right gift, plan a warm and welcoming party and wear the chicest outfit! Recently the folks at Nespresso asked me what I considered to be a tasteful holiday season. This is a question that really has no wrong answer, as it could be something different for each and every one of us. For me, a tasteful holiday is a simple day spent with family sharing good company and good food. Now simple doesn’t have to mean plain or ordinary. There are things people can do do make simple a bit extraordinary. Take coffee, for example. Nespresso offers a way for people like you and I to take something as simple as a cup of coffee and take it to a whole new level.

They make it possible to serve the perfect Espresso, Latte or Cappuccino at the touch of a button. Here’s a two minute video showing how a cup is made, from start to finish. I remained silent for those of you that would want to know what sounds the machines make while in use.

I’m still making my way through all of these flavors. There is a huge variety, definitely something for everyone. Plus, you can change things up by coming up with your own recipes. For example, I took a couple of things I had in the kitchen and made a Nespresso Vanilla Cafe Mocha, using the Nespresso Pixie Aluminum and Aeroccino+ machines.

This whole beverage took under two minutes to make. Here’s how I did it.

INGREDIENTS

• one Grand Cru capsule (flavor of your choice)
• 3 teaspoons vanilla syrup
• 1/2 cup whole milk
• 1 tsp cocoa
• 1/2 tsp sugar

INSTRUCTIONS

First pour the milk into a small cup or glass.

Add the cocoa to the milk and stir.

Pour the milk into the Aeroccino.

Turn the Aeroccino on to blend.

Meanwhile, add the sugar and vanilla syrup to your mug.

Brew the coffee using the Nespresso.

Give the coffee a quick stir to be sure the sugar is dissolved.

Pour the frothed milk over your coffee.

Top with a dollop of whipped cream and serve.

There are tons of different beverages you can make with the Nespresso. I really wanted to try frothing some flavored creamer but the manual said to only use milk. That’s ok, I’ll have fun trying to concoct different flavors on my own. Plus, there are lots of Nespresso recipes on their website too.
