Success Rice is super easy to use. You boil the bag of rice and that’s all you need to do. No need to measure anything.

Lisa, one of the contributing writers here, loves to try new things, especially if they’re flavorful. I thought the new Success Jasmine Rice would be right up her alley, so I asked her to try it. She and her family loved its simplicity and flavor. Here’s a dish she put together using the Success Jasmine Rice.

Success Rice

Rice is a staple here in our home. Hubby and the little one could eat rice almost every day. I would say that we eat it at least 2 to 3 times a week, if not more. I recently was able to try out the new Success Boil-in-Bag Thai Jasmine rice. Other varieties include whole grain brown rice, white rice ,and basmati rice. I often find myself using boil-in-bag rice. It is quick, simple, mess free, and foolproof. It cooks up in about 10 minutes. Success rice has a guarantee on their website. If their rice does not cook perfectly every time, they will refund the purchase price.

Christmas is just around the corner. We all know how crazy this time of year can be. As I try to finish my holiday shopping I found myself in a pinch this weekend. I had not planned out dinner, and was in a hurry to get back out to the stores. I came up with a quick and simple dinner. My 2 year old loved it, he even asked for seconds.

What you’ll need :

  • 2 bags boil-in-bag Jasmine rice
  • 1 rope of smoked sausage
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes

Prepare your rice according to package instructions. I cooked my rice about 8 minutes because I did not want it to get too mushy.

While waiting for my rice to cook I cut up the smoked sausage.

Spray your pan with a little cooking spray and cook sausage through.

Once rice is done, remove from water and add that to your sausage.

In my pantry I had diced tomatoes with green peppers and onions.

You can use whatever variety you like or even a can of rotel. I added 1 can of the diced tomatoes undrained to my sausage and rice.

Stir and cook through.

That’s all, you’re ready to serve.

I just made this. I Google'd what I could make with the sausage and jasmine rice that I had on hand. I was surprised to find this easy 3-ingredient treat. So here's how I made mine:

First, I normally buy Hillshire Farm sausage EXCEPT when I was the meat ground up instead of sliced. In this case, Smithfield sausage is better because it has the snap casing which is super easy to remove and hand-ground.

So I mashed up the sausage and put it in the strainer part of a spaghetti pot with water under it, not submerging the sausage. It's just under enough so that as the water boils it releases the grease and it falls into the water under teh strainer. This removes a GREAT portion of grease that you couldn't drain off as easily. Once the grease is steamed away, I put the sausage into the pan, added some red pepper flakes and the undrained tomatoes. Meanwhile I cooked the rice for just 7 minutes. Once it was done, I poured it into the sausage and tomato mixture and let simmer for another 4 minutes.

It was simply delicious. Thank you for this quickie. I think next time I'll do it with pasta and/or I'll use hot smoked sausage. Great quick meal in a pinch.

I should try this! I love jambalaya type meals but I always worry about getting enough flavor into the rice if I make it myself. Your way makes it seem so easy!
