ABOUT THE SERIES
Kids will get their wish this Christmas: they can bring Santa to their hometown and watch him explore their favorite landmarks in the adorable Santa is Coming! series.
Read along as Santa navigates his way from the North Pole to a city, state or region near you! It’s the perfect way to introduce children to important places of local interest as jolly old St. Nick flies over and sometimes lands on noteworthy locations such as monuments, capitals, museums, and other attractions on his way to their house!
In addition to Santa is Coming to My House, The series includes the following cities/states: Arizona, Boston, California, Chicago, Florida, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New England, New York, Ohio, Philadelphia, Portland, San Francisco, Texas, the Carolinas, the Rockies, Toronto, Vancouver, Washington, Wisconsin.
MY THOUGHTS
I received a copy of Santa is Coming to Ohio by Steve Smallman for review. Upon looking on the website at all the available books, I noticed that even the covers for each place reflect the place they are writing about. Ohio’s book shows an Ohio cityscape, making it feel even more personal to my state. Reading through the book made me smile. It adds in personal Ohio touches, like the mentioning of Santa programming his navigation system to Ohio, calling it the “Buckeye State”, and even naming off well-known Ohio cities and towns, like Cleveland, Akron, and Columbus. While the rest of the story is a generic tale of Santa’s journey, the addition of these specific places is sure to make children in Ohio light up at the thought of Santa knowing exactly how to get to their state. With so many other places to choose from in this series, children all over the US and Canada can experience this magical book. I am looking forward to making this part of our Christmas Eve traditions each year.
