I have recently entered into the hazelnut trend. I’ve never been a big fan until the last couple of months when I tried a hazelnut coffee that I absolutely fell in love with. Since then, I’ve tried several hazelnut coffees, creamers, spreads, etc. I was actually hoping I would love hazelnut spreads, like Nutella, more than peanut butter, just for something a little different. I hadn’t yet found one I liked even close to peanut butter, though, until I had the opportunity to try Nocciolata Organic Hazelnut Spread with Cocoa & Milk. This spread has quickly become a favorite of mine, and – dare I say it – might even be tied with peanut butter!
The only downfall to this is it isn’t something I can really indulge in; it’s more of a treat-myself kind of food. For 2 tbsp, it has 190 calories, 100 of which are from fat (11g per serving). So, it might not be great for the diet, but it certainly is something I can spread on a piece of toast once a week for breakfast. And, when compared to other leading brands, it actually has less calories and fat.
And, in my opinion, it tastes better. I love how creamy it is rather than very thick and molasses-like. Just a tablespoon of the spread on a piece of toast is more than enough for me, and it still leaves me feeling full for awhile. So, for about 180-200 calories including the bread, you can have a tasty, quick, fulfilling breakfast with Nocciolata.
