When looking for essential baby gear while waiting for the arrival of my nephew, one of the things I was specifically looking for was a quality diaper bag that would suit both my brother and his girlfriend. The folks at Amy Michelle Go Totes offered me the opportunity to review one of their bags and I gladly accepted after seeing a bag with the features that I thought a bag should have.

ABOUT AMY MICHELLE GO TOTES
Friends since graduate school, we treasure our nights away from home with our husbands and good food. Dinner out is where it all started. We were laughing and talking over dinner, about things women do. Balancing family, friends, career, and staying sane through it all. From this conversation in 2004, our elegant line of baby bags was born. Function and fashion became the foundation for Amy Michelle.
Five years later, the stylish yet practical features of our bags fit perfectly for expansion into travel and work bags. Similar to the desires of new moms, working women and travelers want something fashionable, organized and sophisticated.
It is such an honor for us to share our bags with women throughout so many aspects of her life. We appreciate our customers and look forward to offering products that fit into your busy lifestyle.
It’s amazing what started out as a simple conversation between friends. It’s amazing what women can do.

MY THOUGHTS
I received the Madison Avenue Tote bag in Navy with a Treasure Splash lining. (Warning, this is not a mad face in the picture, this is an I’m in pain and take the picture face.)

At a glance this 12.5″L x 4″W x 15″H bag it doesn’t look like a baby bag at all, more like a regular tote. That’s terrific, because it means men and women can use it. Not only does it have a long, adjustable, sturdy strap allowing you to carry it on your shoulder, it also can be used as a backpack. Plus, it comes with pieces that will let you hang it on your stroller. How versatile is that! Empty, it’s a very light 1 lb 10 oz. On the front of the outside you’ll find a zippered compartment and pocket designed for holding parent’s gear including cell phone and keys. The outside also has two pockets that can be used for baby or water bottles. On the back of the outside you’ll find a compartment with velcro closure that holds a changing pad. The neat thing about this is the pad is inside of a washable cover. The spacious zipped internal compartment is for baby gear. It has two bottle pockets and a pacifier holder as well as compartments for diapers and wipes. The best feature of all is, as I mentioned earlier, that it doesn’t look like a diaper or baby bag. Rather than throwing it away or giving it away when you no longer need a baby bag, this bag can be used by any family member for years to come – making it well worth its price.
The Madison Avenue Tote Bag is available for purchase in select stores and online, use the store locator to find the store closed to you. The bag retails for $54.95, and monogramming is available for an additional fee. This bag is available in black, chocolate, red, navy and charcoal, each having a different colorful print lining. When you purchase an Amy Michelle bag, up to 5% of the profit will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House.
