Soda Club USA I am so thrilled to have received a chance to review a Soda-Club Soda Maker. We don’t drink a ton of soda in our house. We usually drink water and only have soda once in a while. But, all of the people that regularly come over our house drink soda. And of course, each one likes a different kind of soda. Soda can be really expensive, especially when you’re trying to accommodate a number of people. That’s what makes a Soda-Club Fountain Jet perfect for a household like ours. I can make soda whenever we need it and there’s a flavor for everyone.

My parents house is the opposite. My Mom and Dad drink quite a bit of soda and they both drink one kind, diet. But, my Mom has physical problems and cannot lift anything heavy so she can’t easily buy soda at the store. That’s what makes a Soda-Club soda maker perfect for a household like my parents. They can make diet soda whenever they need it and my Mom doesn’t have to worry about how to get soda in and out of the shopping cart, in and out of the car and into the house.

Soda Club USA Making soda in a soda machine is very quick and easy. Just put water into the bottle. Place the bottle in the machine and press to add carbonation to the water. Open the bottle, add the flavor you want, cap the bottle and gently shake twice. That’s it, you’re done. How easy is that! The end result is soda that tastes just as good as or better than what you’d get from the grocery store. You control the amount of flavor you want and the amount of fizz you want. If you want to see a Soda-Club soda machine in action, just click the 30 second demo picture to the left. The demo will open in a new window.

The unit we reviewed is small enough that it doesn’t take up a ton of space on my counter. We have a travel trailer and go camping. In case you’ve never been camping, space is a premium. We can’t fit much into our tiny fridge, usually just a few bottles of water and a quart of milk is about all of the beverages we can fit. The soda club unit is small enough we can bring it with us and make soda if anyone wants it and not take up any more room in the little fridge.

Besides being easier to buy than soda, the Soda-Club is good for the environment. Think of how many bottles and cans you wouldn’t need to dispose of if you never had to buy soda again. The machine doesn’t use electricity or batteries. And, not being produced in a big plant cuts back the amount of pollution created by the manufacturing and shipping processes. A soda machine is also economical. One of the things I like the most about the Soda-Club soda machine is that it makes just enough so that you don’t have to worry about giant bottles staying open for too long and going flat and then having to dump them out.

Soda Club USA The Soda-Club offers three models of Home machines. There is a large line of soda flavors available to choose from – 12 regular flavors, 13 diet flavors, 2 seltzer or sparkling water flavors. There’s even an energy drink! There is a flavor chart up on the Soda-Club website that tells you which flavors are like the national brands, as well as a nutritional comparison chart showing how Soda-Club fares against national brands. The diet soda flavors are sweetened with Splenda, the good stuff! No aspartame here. The regular soda flavors are lower in sodium and contain 2/3 less carbohydrates, calories and sugar than store bought soda. All Soda-Club products are Kosher certified. We’ve tried the diet orange, diet root beer and regular cream so far and found the taste to be good. The only suggestion we have for Soda-Club is to make the flavor fill lines on the flavoring a little darker or maybe use a lighter color cap because we had a hard time seeing where to stop filling.

The folks at Soda-Club have been very generous and offered to provide a Soda-Club soda maker unit to one winner of this giveaway. The winner will receive a Black/Silver Fountain Jet soda maker, 1 carbonator, 2 reusable carbonating bottles and a selection of sample flavors, total value approximately $100.

karissa July 31, 2008 - 8:42 pm

Personally, I think the advantage is you aren’t buying soda, so that right there saves you money, but if you are also trying to cut back, you first have to make it, so it might help you cut back on the initial splurge!

Angie July 31, 2008 - 8:44 pm

I am all about the classics…rootbeer and vanilla cola sound great!

This is such a neat thing to giveaway!!

I would like to try “All that Jazz” or the “Guilt Free Root Beer Float”.

The Grapefruit soda is the first one I’d love to try.

Bonnie Day July 31, 2008 - 9:03 pm

I would like to try the Diet Harvest Iced Tea
and the Orange Essence Flavour sparkling water

Kim July 31, 2008 - 9:04 pm

How cool! One advantage is everyone could make the kind they like/feel like and not wasting a whole 2 liter or taking up too much room in the fridge

Kim July 31, 2008 - 9:05 pm

I Drink Diet Coke so I guess Diet Cola would be the closest to my preferance.

Kristine J. July 31, 2008 - 9:07 pm

1 – I would like to try the fruit fizz recipe.

2 – I normally drink Mountain Dew or Coca Cola so I would like the Fountain Mist or Cola.

Kim July 31, 2008 - 9:07 pm

You also have a new subscriber!! Thanks!

Tatiana July 31, 2008 - 9:08 pm

I think this would be great for little get togethers! I have never heard of this machine before! I like rootbeer!

Jill Myrick July 31, 2008 - 9:09 pm

the best advantage that I can see is that my children would only get to drink soda when we made it. No more running around with a can of soda in their hands all the time.
Our favorite flavor to try would be Grape. I like the fact that it is also Caffeine free.
Thank you so much for offering this wonderful giveaway.
I would LOVE to win !!

Kelly R. July 31, 2008 - 9:12 pm

This is absolutely amazing! I’ve never heard of such a thing.

The biggest advantage for me is that I live alone and often cannot finish a 2-liter of pop before it goes flat. Being able to make whatever flavor I want and just the right amount would cut WAY down on waste for me!

Pete’s Choice – the Dr. Pepper flavor – would be the closest to what I normally drink.

Thank you for this great contest!

Memarie Lane July 31, 2008 - 9:17 pm

I’d love to try vanilla cola, I was so sad when they discontinued Vanilla Coke.

reeva July 31, 2008 - 9:24 pm

i’d love to try the cream soda and i love the sleek look of the soda machine 🙂

Heather July 31, 2008 - 9:25 pm

Ooh I would LOVE to try one of these!
1. I love that it only takes 30 seconds to make and is more environmentally friendly than buying seltzer or soda.

Heather July 31, 2008 - 9:25 pm

2. I usually drink flavored seltzer so I would like to try the lemon-lime and orange My Waters. Also the orange soda. I like my drinks super fizzy so this would be perfect for me!

Heather July 31, 2008 - 9:27 pm

3. I just subscribed to your RSS

Tara July 31, 2008 - 9:31 pm

The creamsicle sounds yum.. From what I just read apparently this is better for you then buying store bought! I am all for that!! I would loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee to win this fabulous giveaway!!!! 🙂

I drink diet coke or a diet beverage so the diet cola or the lemon one would be like a sprite..

Cristina July 31, 2008 - 9:41 pm

I want to try the Tart and Tiny… Sounds delicious.

I normally drink Schweppes Ginger Ale, so I’d like to try the ginger ale that Soda Club produces

Go Amie July 31, 2008 - 9:44 pm

I usually drink Root Beer, and they have Root Beer, so that is similar, I’d say.

Also, one advantage is price and convenience. Another is less waste!

Thank you!

Annabelle@Christian Momma July 31, 2008 - 9:56 pm

I usually drink Coke, so I would probably drink the Cola brand. However, I would like to try and make something similar to Big Red (another favorite of mine) by using the Cherry and Cream Soda mixed together. My boys would love to use this machine and it would help teach them how to work together instead of fighting!

Joy F July 31, 2008 - 10:02 pm

We don’t usually keep pop on hand (or can’t agree on what flavor to buy) so this would keep us prepared and everyone happy!

LadySnow July 31, 2008 - 10:04 pm

I have always wanted to try this. I either want to try the Lemon Lime, Cola, or the ginger ale. T his would be great so i don’t have to worry about cans or bottles to recycle. 😀

Shilo Beedy July 31, 2008 - 10:14 pm

The greatest advantage to having one is being able to make soda any time I want at home. I also would not be creating a ton of waste that cans and plastic bottles cause. I would love to try the cream soda. Thanks for the great giveaway!

Kim July 31, 2008 - 10:24 pm

Ooh, I would LOVE one of these!!! I love to make Italian Cream Sodas, so this would be perfect for me! There are lots of their recipes I’d love to try, but the Peppermint Egg Cream really caught my eye.
I am normally a Dr. Pepper kind of girl, so I would also want to try the Pete’s Choice and see how close to my regular soda it is.

Amy July 31, 2008 - 10:33 pm

I’m thinking that it would be such a savings to own one of these – I can save $$ and still have my pop 🙂 Cream soda is my favorite flavor 🙂

Charlotte July 31, 2008 - 10:48 pm

I’d like to try the sparkling lemonade recipe.

My normal beverage of choice is Diet Vanilla Coke Zero, so it looks like the equivalent would be the Diet Cola and Diet Cream Soda flavors mixed together. Yum!

This looks like a really cool product.

Trisha July 31, 2008 - 11:03 pm

Ooh, I really want to try the creamsicle. That sounds super yummy.

As to what soda I usually drink, I like cream soda. Barqs Red Cream Soda to be exact. The nice thing is they have a cream soda flavor too! Thanks for the giveaway!

leigh July 31, 2008 - 11:09 pm

1)love the root beer float

2) i normally drink coke so that’d be the cola

Kelly Ann T. July 31, 2008 - 11:17 pm

I want to try the All that Jazz recipe. It looks great and it is made with diet soda. Thank you for the giveaway. I normally drink diet coke and they have a diet cola I would like to try.

Jacquie July 31, 2008 - 11:25 pm

I’d like to try the rootbeer, orange, or cola! Thanks!

Jenny July 31, 2008 - 11:30 pm

I have been trying to win this since I saw it on YouTube!
I like how they offer 12 diet flavors sweetened with Splenda and you can customize the flavor to however weak or strong you want it.
I like Barq’s and they have a root beer flavor that sounds so good!

misty July 31, 2008 - 11:32 pm

I want to try the Cream Soda recipe.

I usually drink Mountain Dew. So Fountain Mist woul be my equal to it.

I am also subscribed.

Ginny July 31, 2008 - 11:40 pm

I’d love to try & make the cream soda, sounds good!

Ginny July 31, 2008 - 11:42 pm

I’m subscribed via bloglines for the extra entry.

I also hit enter & it submitted my post instead of going to the next line like I wanted, dang computer. Anyway, my favorite drink is Coke.

Lisa P August 1, 2008 - 12:01 am

I think this is a great gadget, If I buy soda its sprite for the kids, no caffine so I would try the lemmom lime

Michelle Rosborough August 1, 2008 - 12:19 am

Berry Dream sounds good

Theresa Shafer August 1, 2008 - 12:45 am

One advantage is I can decide how fizzy is my drink. Also how sweet it should be.

Thank you for offering this great prize.

Christy August 1, 2008 - 12:53 am

Cool! I think the biggest advantage would be that you don’t have to worry about flat soda. Hubby and I like different flavors and if we don’t finish a bottle quickly enough, it’s a waste. Also, it would keep us from buying cans for when we want a different flavor.

Anyway, I usually drink Caffeine free diet coke. They have a caffeine free diet cola made with Splenda, which is a bonus for me because I prefer it as a sweetener.

Tracye August 1, 2008 - 12:55 am

I would like to try the cream soda.

Hubs loves Dr. Pepper, so we’d also need to get Pete’s Choice.

Carol August 1, 2008 - 12:57 am

I’d love to try the Vanilla Cola and the Cream. Yummy! August 1, 2008 - 12:57 am

You can reuse bottles is a definite advantage and it uses no electricity!! I drink Pepsi, I guess the closet thing the Soda-Club has to it is Cola

Tara Hill August 1, 2008 - 1:09 am

I would like to try the peppermint egg cream and my favorite soda is Dr. Pepper, which is Pete’s choice! Very interesting. I think this is the neatest thing I have seen in a long time! Crossing my fingers big time!

Jaime C. August 1, 2008 - 1:40 am

This machine is so neat!!

The recipe I’d like to try is a Cos-Mojito. I drink a lot of 7up so I know I’d love the lemon lime flavor!

I subscribed via email. Thanks 🙂

Kathleen August 1, 2008 - 1:54 am

I’d love to try the guilt-free rootbeer float! Who couldn’t use a little less guilt in their lives? 🙂 We usually drink diet cherry vanilla dr pepper (or store brand), and Pete’s Choice is the closest, though we’d have to get some cherry-vanilla in there ourselves.

Thanks for the rad giveaway!

Kimberly August 1, 2008 - 2:04 am

I would love to try the witch’s brew. Great giveaway

Michelle August 1, 2008 - 2:33 am

One advantage of having your own soda machine is that each person can have whatever flavour of soda they like, without the worry of opening up a big, more economical bottle, and then having it go flat. We like soda occasionally, but not enough that we want our kids polishing off a 2-liter bottle worth in a couple of days.

Queen of the Click August 1, 2008 - 2:34 am

Hi! My sweetie drinks a lot of Diet Pepsi (from the time he wakes up until he goes to bed). The Soda Club has diet cola which I think sweetie should try because I am tired of carrying bottles and cans home (we have a lot of stairs).

Queen of the Click August 1, 2008 - 2:35 am

I’d love to try the Grapefruit soda.

christene August 1, 2008 - 2:39 am

Creamsicle sound yummy…This could definately save us money over our current cost of soda weekly

christene August 1, 2008 - 2:40 am

We drink diet coke or we would be ordering their diet soda

Audrey Okaneko August 1, 2008 - 2:48 am

I would love to try the cranberry raspberry soda. Thanks!

Suzie G August 1, 2008 - 3:44 am

This looks so neat! I want to try making the Fruit Fizz. Part grapefruit, part Cranberry-raspberry! That’s oool you can even get the stuff to make your own energy drink! I usually drink Coke or Pepsi and Soda Club has a cola flavor… Wonder if it’s more Coke or Pepsi? The packaging is red. I’ve noticed most generic Cola’s are red… wonder if that means more companies prefer to imitate Coke over Pepsi?

Jennifer M August 1, 2008 - 6:29 am

I’d like to try the Cranberry Lime Sparkler.

mannequin August 1, 2008 - 7:11 am

I like the fact that we can reduce our trash load by not bringing home more cans !
It’s also very nice to know exactly what is going in you body; exactly WHAT am I drinking? That’s the joy of homemade.

maggie August 1, 2008 - 8:48 am

I’m eager to try the Vanilla Coke. I usually drink Sprite or 7-up, which would be similar to the lemon-lime. Thanks a ton!

CanCan (Mom Most Traveled) August 1, 2008 - 9:18 am

If you have a soda machine, there is never a reason to have to drink flat soda again. You can always impress the guests in a snap!

onlycancan at hotmail dot com

Kam A August 1, 2008 - 9:42 am

I really want one of these!! It looks like it would be so much fun! I would want to try either cream soda or root beer the most! It looks so easy! Thank you for the giveaway!

Becky Grady August 1, 2008 - 10:28 am

I would try the Tart and Tiny recipe. I like vanilla coke, but I can’t always find it. The vanilla cola flavor sounds like it would be good for me.

tricia August 1, 2008 - 10:51 am

I think I would love to try the Grape or Cream Soda. Both are favorites from my childhood

Barbara Baker August 1, 2008 - 11:12 am

Great giveaway by the way (I would love to own one of these)!!!

I love the earth friendly options the company offers by means od using far less recycling. Since there are no bottles or cans to recycle or throw away…that’s gotta account for something grand.

If I were to win this I would definitely make a concoction of cranberry and orange flavors to make a whole new kind of soda (for me)…for the kids, well, with all the flavors that are offered, I’m sure we could find something all three of my kids would enjoy.

Please count me in, I would love LOVE love to win!!!

Kyra August 1, 2008 - 11:15 am

OK! One advantage of the soda machine is like you said, everyone likes a different flavor, then before you know it you have all this pop in the house, and since it’s there we drink it! I think this might actually cut down our soda consumption a little while leaving many flavors at our disposal! My favorite flavor is Vanilla Coke and lucky for me they have the flavor vanilla cola! WooHoo! Great giveaway!

Suzanne B. (Crunchy Green Mom) August 1, 2008 - 11:22 am

One of the advantages?

We own a LARP, it’s like a free form theatre group. Instead of buying a ton of soda bottles, we can get something like this and have them make custom orders. It would be alot of fun, and I think we would be the talk of the town!

Wonderful giveaway (Oh, and for the recipes, they have a mojito in there that is TO DIE FOR!!)

Jodi August 1, 2008 - 11:59 am

The Guilt-Free Root Beer Float receipe sounds good to me

Suzanne August 1, 2008 - 12:25 pm

The vanilla cola sounds yummy.

Carrie August 1, 2008 - 12:54 pm

I love root beer (as does my husband) so that would be the first one I would try.

Rachel R. August 1, 2008 - 1:01 pm

How cool! I didn’t know there was such a thing. If we had a soda machine, we could make our own “special” drinks (Italian cream soda, etc.) that require club soda, without running out to the store.

Dani' August 1, 2008 - 1:17 pm

Wow that is fabulous! I’ve never heard of those.
1. I would try the Ginger Chai Refresher RECIPE.

2.I like Dr. Pepper so I would try Pete’s Choice. (AND I want to try the Cream soda yummy!) solta(at)hotmaildotcom

Kristan August 1, 2008 - 1:26 pm

I’d like to try the sparkling lemonade recipe. i like fresca, which is like the diet pink grapefruit.

Jenniifer C August 1, 2008 - 1:42 pm

1. I love that it’s economical. We look for any way to strech a dollar in this house!

2. We would try the lemon lime to replace the lemon lime Hanson’s we drink too much of!

Nancy August 1, 2008 - 1:43 pm

I’m fascinated by these Soda Club machines and would love to win one!

1.The recipe I’d like to try is the Ginger Chai Refresher.

2. I usually drink Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi, so the similar Soda Club Flavor would be Diet Cola.

I’d love to have this to make the Lemon-Lime or Orange Sparkling water!

I discovered your site via the Bloggy Giveaways Carnival promotion. Thanks for the opportunity to win!

Britni August 1, 2008 - 1:58 pm

Sparkling lemonade sounds delish!

The Random Muse August 1, 2008 - 2:31 pm

I’ve never seen one of these before.
That is cool. I need to try the Creamsicle.

lifeasamama August 1, 2008 - 3:06 pm

wow. COOL! i usually drink lime sparkling water, root beer or ginger ale, since i’m caffeine free. i love the idea of carbonating water on the spot. if we buy cans, they take up so much space in the fridge, and if we buy 2 liters, they go flat before we can drink them.

i am most excited about the lemon-lime water flavor, or the cran-raspberry soda.

too cool!

Rodney K August 1, 2008 - 3:25 pm

wildcherry rootbeer I’d like

Carlee August 1, 2008 - 3:46 pm

Wow, how fun would this be to have!!!!

1. The recipe I would definitely have to try is the sparkling lemonade! It just sounds delicious!

2. My husband and I are both huge Cream Soda fans and definitely drink that more than any other soda flavor. And it looks like they have a Cream Soda flavor, so that would be awesome! My husband would be in heaven with a machine like this and the ability to have cream soda whenever we want it!

Robyn's Online World August 1, 2008 - 3:51 pm

These machines look so cool!

I would like to try the Ginger Chai Refresher recipe.

Normally I drink Coca-Cola (way too much), and Soda Club has a cola flavor that I would love to try out.

Sara Altuna August 1, 2008 - 3:58 pm

Favorite recipe – fruit fizz
Dr. pepper is my fav. drink, pete’s choice is the recipe that used that.

Kimberly L August 1, 2008 - 4:36 pm

I like the fact that it is environmentally friendly. The use of reusable carbonating bottles or carafes that come with the home soda maker opposed to traditional cans/bottles.

Tiffany Rosson August 1, 2008 - 4:36 pm

I would like to make my own diet vanilla coke.

Paul August 1, 2008 - 5:28 pm

As a diabetic, I’m a diet soda addict. I’d like to try a bunch of the diet soda flavors like the diet cola, diet ginger ale, diet lemon lime, diet orange, diet pete’s choice, diet pink grapefruit, and diet root beer. I’d also like to try the lemon-lime and orange flavor essences for making sparkling flavored water.

I like the idea of saving on storage space and not having to schlep the usual four cases of 12-packs that I get when I stock up on soda.

I usually drink Diet Coke and Fresca, and Soda Club’s got similar flavors in their diet cola and diet pink grapefruit.

lace August 1, 2008 - 5:40 pm

One advantage would be not spending money on soda and it going flat before I can drink it. I can have fresh.

Christina August 1, 2008 - 5:55 pm

I want to make some root beer yum!

Stacy August 1, 2008 - 7:05 pm

Definitely the creamsicle.

Cat Hare August 1, 2008 - 7:08 pm

Like the idea of this machine. But not their mixes. They all contain Splenda which according to all the research I have done is VERY UNHEALTHY. But I would use it for sparkling water.

Hil'Lesha August 1, 2008 - 8:11 pm

My son would love this! That is one advantage. 😉

Bella August 1, 2008 - 8:22 pm

I would want to try the Ginger Ale because I like unique Ginger Ales.

I normally drink Coca Cola, and the Cola flavor is the closest to that.

I have added you to my RSS feed.

Melon August 1, 2008 - 8:36 pm

Advantages are that everyone can have what they want with little waste and spoilage. I like Sprist, so the lemon mime would work for me.

Mama Zen August 1, 2008 - 11:08 pm

I want to try the Creamsicle!

kristen August 1, 2008 - 11:31 pm

I would love to try the Dr Pepper flavored one!

Tina August 2, 2008 - 12:07 am

I think its great that you can make different flavors and also that it eliminates carrying home heavy soda packages from the store. I love to drink Root Beer and would love to try the Soda Club root beer. Thanks for the giveaway!

I would love to try the Creamsicle recipe. We usually drink Mountain Dew, so i would try the
Fountain Mist flavor that would be similar. I susbscribed to your feed.

I’m a fan of Mountain Dew, so I’d be trying the Fountain Mist flavor. Or maybe the vanilla cola, because that sounds interesting to try.

Thank you for the giveaway!

This is so cool! I would like to try the Shirley Temple or the Berry Dream. Dr. Pepper is my favorite, so I would have to try Pete’s Choice.

1. It’s “earth friendly,” reducing waste, packaging and doesn’t take electricity.

2. In our house we ususally drink 7-up or root beer, both flavors that have comparable alternatives (Soda-Club offers lemon-lime and root beer).

Feel free to come enter my give away at 🙂

I like that you can control the fizz! I’ve always loved “Cola Flavored things” but I always liked it flat, and cola and fizz always seemed to go together! Can’t find non-carbonated Cola drinks!
I’m normally a Diet Pepsi fan, tho’ lately I’ve bought some Coke Zero and I like that fine. So their Diet Cola would be the substitute.
Diet Soda is my vice! I’ve tried cutting down but I drink so much of it so I look for sales and stock up! So I might buy like 10 12-packs at a time and it is a pain carrying those up and down stairs and trying to open doors carrying all that! I live in an apartment with no elevators and I’m not getting any younger! I know one of these days my back and joints will pay for all this soda lugging! So this would save me time, money, my health and medical bills!

My favorites are cola and cream soda, and both can be made with the machine. I would love to try some of the other flavors, especially the fruit ones. A nice advantage is the elmination of all the plastic bottle/aluminum can waste around the house. Good for me and for the environment!

This has got to be the coolest thing I have ever seen! I have 5 kids so we go through a lot of cola…I drink coke so the cola is good for me and the kids love grape soda with their Ice cream…:P
They would like the orange too… I subscribed… please add my 3 entries! Thanks for something so neat!

I’m TOTALLY into this!!!! I love seltzer. My family drinks it every day. I could feel really good about using less bottles with this machine too.

So, with regard to the second entry. I’m mostly for plain seltzer and we sometimes make a Celery Tonic that we mix into our seltzer. That said, we do like our Cola flavors once in a while. The problem is, I saw in the ingredients, that they may include High Fructose Corn Syrup. We really try to avoid that in my family.

A huge advantage of this machine is that I have recently discovered flavored stevia and I could make a sugarless version of soda for my kids. They rarely get to drink any because they struggle with sugar issues. 🙂 Plus, we could save some money on my hubby’s soda habit lol.

I like cola and root beer and it looks like they have both of those flavors. 🙂
