There are many days that I feel like I don’t get a chance to sit down from the time I get up until the time I go to bed. On days like that we’ll usually have sandwiches. Sandwiches have a purpose but after a while they taste pretty much the same. You know what I mean. Sometimes they taste like, well, sandwiches. For some reason a sandwich out always tastes better, more gourmet, than a sandwich you make yourself. Oscar Mayer recently came out with a line of gourmet sandwich kits that offer a tasty meal that only takes a minute to prepare.

Deli Creations from Oscar Mayer

Is your lunch hour getting squeezed? Experience Deli Creations from Oscar Mayer, with all the warmth, flavor and fresh-baked taste you look forward to – without having to go out. In less than 60 seconds, you can create a lunch time option for one, served with warm, bakery-style bread, quality Oscar Mayer cuts of meat, Kraft natural cheeses and specialty sauces, all individually wrapped for freshness.

Focaccia Sandwiches

Introducing a restaurant-inspired sandwich without the price. Deli Creations Focaccia Sandwiches from Oscar Mayer. Everything you need packed fresh, including delicious oven-baked herb bread. All hot and melty in a microwave minute.

If it’s lunch money you’re lacking, know this – you can save an average of 46 percent versus dining out1 by opting for an Deli Creations Focaccia Sandwich from Oscar Mayer. The taste could be mistaken for one of your favorite menu items, and at less than $4 per sandwich, it’ll help you watch your budget.

The Focaccia Sandwiches come in 4 flavors:

  • Tuscan-Style Chicken
  • Parmesan Basil Turkey
  • Steakhouse Beef and Pepper Jack
  • Bistro Ham and Provolone

Each package contains one sandwich (5.5 – 5.75 ounces, depending on variety). These are available in the refrigerated meat case in most grocery stores nationwide and have a suggested retail price of $3.29.

Oscar Mayer send me one of each of the four flavors for this review.

Each of the items in the sandwich kit are sealed in separate packages of their own. I like this because it allows the person making the sandwich to put what they want where they want in the amount they want. To make the sandwich you just unwrap the ingredients, assemble and heat.

For RB and I we thought that the amounts in the packages was just right. We were both surprises at how fresh and soft the rolls were when it was time to eat. My favorite is the Parmesan Basil Turkey – the creamy basil parmesan sauce on the bread with the melty cheese is absolutely delicious. The only place both RB and I found room for improvement is in the slicing of the roll. The roll looks like it’s sliced so we pulled it apart. It wasn’t sliced all of the way through so it tore the bread and split the sandwich in half. We used a knife on the others. We enjoyed the sandwiches. It’s enough for one  but I think it would also be great split between two people and paired with a soup or salad.

Since they are individually packaging the ingredients, a corned beef reuben would be a super addition to the line. They soak thru so quickly that take-out and delivery are not very good options for this sandwich.
