Pie is a great dessert to serve when you’re entertaining for the holidays. The thing about the holidays is of course, as you know, we all get busy. For me while I do like to entertain from time to time, I simply don’t always have the time to put together entire meals or even certain dishes from scratch. So, as I’ve mentioned in the past, when needed I will absolutely take help where I can find it – in my freezer. And I’m not alone. As it turns out, the week before Christmas is the most popular for purchasing pies. More than 11 million pies are sold during the month of December, with an estimated 4 million sold this week alone.
When I need to find some tasty food with home-cooked flavor that’s easy to make, I need look no further than Marie Callender’s. Their products are made with high quality ingredients. Since one of the secrets to successful entertaining consider using a store-bought pie and adding a few homemade touches to make it your own.

The Razzleberry Pie is a great example of this. There’s no need to stress about baking when you can take this juicy and delicious pie and add a few homemade touches, leaving you with a delicious pie that smells, tastes and looks like homemade but doesn’t involve all of the work you’d have to put in if you were making it homemade.

Once the Razzleberry pie is baked according to the instructions on the box, let it set and then put it into the fridge for at least 3-4 hours. Grab a bag of dark chocolate kisses. Melt all but about a dozen pieces of the dark chocolate and create a layer of it covering the entire pie. Then, top the pie with whipped cream and a few pieces of dark chocolate. Now you have a sassy dessert that your guests won’t be able to get enough of. The whipped cream does wilt pretty quickly, but it’s unlikely you’ll have to worry about that too much because your guests will be so busy enjoying the pie it won’t be sitting out for very long.

Here’s a brief (1 miunute) video showing you how simple it is.
See how well homemade touches work on this pie? It’s got all the comforts of homemade without the work. Speaking of the comforts of home, this fall Marie Callender’s announced the return of the Comforts from Home Project. To help bring the comforts of home to the brave men and women of the U.S. military, specially-marked packages of Marie Callender’s meals and desserts encourage consumers to go online to Comforts From Home and enter a code found on the back of the box. Marie Callender’s will make a $.50 donation to the USO Operation Celebration program for each code entered, up to $300,000.
