In some ways my sons are just like their father. Thankfully, they also have some good traits that are far more like me. No matter which of us they are more like I love them with all that I am. Even though I am Mom and not usually “the fun one” I consider myself to have a close bond with both of my boys. I hope that as they mature and eventually turn into men that we always remain this close. I accepted the opportunity to review the book Chicken Soup For The Soul – Moms & Sons because I thought it would be interesting to read about other Mom’s stories of relationships with their sons.

This book was also light reading written by a diverse group of authors. “Don’t Blink” is poignant and so true. “Dissed” is very brief and very funny. “I Flushed It” is funny and something I can easily see one of my brother’s as doing. “A Lesson From My Son” brings home the point that while education is important to us it isn’t everything. “Jimmy’s New Shoes” is touching and struck close to home for me, being about a Mom watching her physically challenged child achieve a goal that had been uncertain that he’d achieve.
