My friend calls me Nascar chick. I love Nascar Nextel Cup Racing. I never miss watching a race. For many years now I’ve gone to at least two Nascar Cup races – one in Watkins Glen NY and the other in Dover DE. This is the first year I didn’t make either one. Yesterday I watched my 11 year old son go in my place to the Dover race. I didn’t feel it would be a smart decision in relation to surgery recovery for me to go. Between the walk to and from the car, the steps to the stands, and just the risk of the physical closeness, I knew if I went there’d be an excellent chance I’d end up in bad shape. So I sat home and watched on tv. It sucked. Jamie had a lousy day. Kurt had a decent day only to wreck right before the end. On the upside, my son saw his first non-roadtrack race and my hubby and son bought me two Jamie shirts home.
