Heat Up Your Summer Menu with Jack Daniel’s

Tennessee Whiskey Adds Spirit to Cocktails and the Grill

LYNCHBURG, Tenn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The official start of summer also means that barbecue season is well underway, and friends across the United States are firing up the grill to celebrate with great food and drink. Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey is one of summertime’s most versatile ingredients, adding its distinct flavor to not only delicious summer cocktails but also mouthwatering recipes for the grill.

“One of the best parts of summer is grilling out with friends and family, and adding a little Jack Daniel’s to the mix makes it even better,” Joseph Carvajal, Jack Daniel’s Hispanic brand director said. “From ribs to chicken to cocktails for a crowd, Jack Daniel’s is a key ingredient for outdoor entertaining.”

Lynchburg Lemonade is a popular choice for a refreshing summer cocktail on a hot day, and can be made by the pitcher. When paired with Jack Daniel’s Steak or Maple Whiskey Chicken Skewers, the combination of flavors turns a simple backyard barbecue into an unforgettable feast.*

  • 1 1/3 C. water
  • 2/3 C. soy sauce
  • 1 C. brown sugar
  • 1 C. onion, diced
  • 2 tsp. garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp. fresh ginger, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

MARINADE

Whisk together all ingredients, except steaks, in large baking dish. Add steaks, cover and marinate in refrigerator overnight.

STEAKS

Preheat grill to medium-high. Remove steaks from marinade and grill 8-10 minutes per side, or to desired doneness. Allow steaks to rest 5-10 minutes before serving. Makes 4 servings.

Jack Daniel’s Maple Whiskey Chicken Skewers

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ C. Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey
  • 3 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into skewer-sized chunks
  • 6 tsp. dried thyme
  • 1 ½ C. pure maple syrup
  • 3 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

MARINADE

Whisk together Jack Daniel’s, syrup and oil. Rub thyme over all sides of chicken. Cover with marinade and place in refrigerator for several hours.

A CUP of JD for the steak? Holy cow, Val...you'd not want me to have a steak knife, I'd be SILLY after that! LOL. I remember being in Nashville and having something like this there once and it was SO AMAZING! Have to get my grillmaster right on that recipe! thanks!

The sauce is tasty. I prefer virgin lemonade to the one suggested. .-= pat.navymom´s last blog ..Kitchen Remodel Moving Along =-.
