REVIEW – Have Comfort And Convenience With A Novosbed Luxury Mattress – With $100 Off Coupon

We all know how hard it can be to function if we don’t feel well-rested. It’s harder to be positive and concentrate when you’re tired. Through the years I have slept on a number of different “traditional” mattresses, all second-hand, that ranged from old to even older. As an adult I had never had a brand new mattress of my own until this year, with the exception of a waterbed mattress we bought in the 90s at a discount department store for about $35. That waterbed mattress should have been my insight into what happens when you aren’t careful when purchasing a mattress. That mattress lasted three months.

Fast forwarding to present day, I now understand how important having a good mattress can be. But, there’s no reason that buying a good mattress should have to be a job. Typically, when you want to buy a mattress you need to go to a mattress showroom in your area, where a salesperson will do his or her best to sell you a product you might or might not need. I believe people should be able to buy in peace, asking questions if needed, and wind up with a product they not only need but in the end appreciate. And don’t even get me started on getting something big like a mattress home. You might struggle with getting it home, tied own on the roof of your car overlapping all windows so you can barely see. I selected a twin size Novosbed of medium firmness. The 11″ total thickness of the medium mattress consists of 2″ Ultra-Dense Airflow Memory Foam, 2″ Ultra-Dense Memory Foam and 7″ Premium Support Foam. The mattress arrives compressed, encased in vacuum-packed plastic. As it was the twin-size, I was able to easily bring the mattress into the house on my own.

I got the Novosbed mattress up onto my son’s old mattress and asked hubby to help me open it up (so I could take pictures).

The first time you undo the plastic it allows the Novosbed to unroll. When you open the plastic up all of the way, the mattress can start to expand. The mattress took only 2-3 minutes to unfold and expand once I took it out of the wrap.

The first feature that caught my eye is the removable ultra-soft stretch knit top cover. The top cover zips off, allowing you to wash it. Anyone who has experienced sweating during the night will appreciate this advantage that cannot be found in a traditional mattress. Once your bed has opened you are able to start enjoying it, but do be aware that the mattress can take up to 48 hours to fully expand. While you can sleep on it that day, do be aware that there can be an adjustment period when changing to a new mattress.

The Comfort+ kit allows you to make your Novosbed slightly firmer or softer depending on your needs. This kit contains a 2 inch mattress topper, fabric sock and mattress cover extender. By using the extender, the additional topper sits right in the mattress, right where you place it. To use the kit you place the foam into the fabric cover. Next you unzip the removable top cover from the mattress. Then you place the kit’s extender onto the mattress, then place the Comfort+ mattress topper on. Finally, you put the removable top cover back onto the expander on the mattress.

The medium firmness mattress I chose has worked out perfectly. My son had been on a very inexpensive mattress up until the Novosbed arrived. He noticed the difference in the feel of the bed immediately, proclaiming his delight with a big “wow!”. He has slept soundly every night since. I did notice a difference in the height of the mattress, the Novosbed is actually higher than his old traditional mattress.

I checked out his mattress as well, and found it to be very comfortable. It’s easy to lay in the bed and have the mattress surround and support you without sinking down into a “valley” as was the case with his old mattress. The Novosbed has thousands of vertical air channels to help keep you cool while you sleep. I found that the mattress does hold heat a little bit more than his old traditional mattress. It isn’t a problem for us as he prefers to be cozy when he sleeps. I love knowing that he is sleeping comfortably at night, and that his body is getting the quality comfort and rest that it deserves.

When my son saw us putting the Comfort+ kit on he seemed a bit worried, as he really likes the bed. Once he realized that the kit was only to ensure he was as comfortable as possible he relaxed. I found it fascinating how the feel of the mattress could be changed so quickly. The only challenge I found after placing the kit on is that it made the mattress a bit taller still, which made getting the sheets a little more challenging to sit correctly. The removable ultra-soft stretch knit top cover of the mattress is very soft, the extra Comfort+ layer makes it even softer.
