Making Learning Fun With SimplyFun Games

It’s always been my experience that most kids sigh (and possibly also roll their eyes and mumble to themselves) when they hear that they have to study or practice some of the skills they are learning. We received the game Pass the Rooby Roo!. This game is designed for ages 5 and up, and is perfect for reinforcing letter recognition and word association.

One Pass the Rooby Roo! game lasts for approximately 10 minutes, and may be played by 2-4 players.The entire game can fit within the included pouch. I love this because that means it doesn’t take up much room to store, and could easily be enjoyed while traveling.

Playing the game is easy. The letter tiles are laid out in a circle. The player chooses one of the letters and rolls the dice to reveal a category. Players then have to think of a word in that category that begins with the letter that was chosen. The first player that can think of a word says “Pass the Rooby Roo!” and collects a rubie card. The first player to earn four rubies wins the game.

The Pass the Rooby Roo! game isn’t ideal for my youngest as is due to developmental delays. So, we played it ourselves to get a feel for it. We three adults enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. We had so much fun that we’re currently  thinking up ways to make gameplay for my youngest  a bit easier to understand, so that he can be a part of family game night as well.Playing made for a fun family game night. It was great hearing the different words (real and incorrect) that everyone came up with. It’s easy to see how this game would benefit all students, including homeschooled students.
