It’s no secret that 3D printing has been a buzzed-about industry for a while now, since it seems to be entering almost every field at the same time. Whether you’re in the medical world or a clothing designer, 3D printers like the Cube 3 can assist you in building custom items. 3D printed food has also been an important development, with groups like 3D Systems’ Sugar Lab designing edible sugar sculptures on the computer and then printing them out like they’re stewards of Willy Wonka’s factory. To give consumers and professional chefs the power to achieve this magical feat, the company built two food-based printers called the Chef Jet and Chef Jet Pro. As of now, they’re targeted for restaurants that like to push boundaries and concoct whimsical dishes, but soon they will be available for use in home kitchens. In short, it’s inspiring to see so many materials working their way into a 3D printer. Here are just a few of the newest applications:

When 3D was first in decades ago, hubby got me a 3D camera. Used it only a few times--too expensive for the result I got.
