We were very excited to be able to review the Hugaboo Seat. My son BG is 6 months old and we are in middle of practicing sitting up. The seat part is not filled with stuffing which I actually like because he can try to teach himself to sit on a flat surface. The seat bottom is attached to the seat, which is to help prevent your baby from sliding to the floor.
Getting BG into the seat was a little bit of a challenge, especially trying to get his chubby little legs through the leg holes. Once he was in it he really enjoyed sitting upright and being able to look around. We attached two of his toys to the toy attachments. Doing this is a perfect opportunity to strengthen sensory and motor skills through floor time play and activities.
I did have one concern. My son is a wiggler. He did lean over far enough to get on his belly with the seat still on his legs. The package does tell you NOT to use on elevated surfaces and NEVER leave a child unattended which I completely agree with. With that in mind (along with not leaving your baby unattended), I would consider using this at a slightly younger age.
Getting him out was also a little tricky but easier than some of the harder seats since its all cushions and easy to move. This whole seat is VERY soft and seems very comfortable. I actually think this seat is better than some of the other hard seats just because if he could lean back or to the side in this seat and is more cushioned compared to others.
The Hugaboo Baby Seat is light and portable. It can easily be carried from one room to another and would also be very easy to pack and bring along if traveling. It’s great to find a product that helps keep baby’s back and sides stabilized while he’s learning to sit up on his own. The seat cover comes completely off for washing which is great! Overall it’s a very cute and useful seat.
