10 Disney Car Travel And Road Trip Games

Doing a little car travel? Whether you’re going on a road trip, taking a vacation, going to visit friends, or even moving, one thing is probably for sure. The children will get a little bored after a few hours pass. There are tons of games that can be played in the car. I’ve taken ten of our old favorites from back in the day and put a little Disney spin on them. They require no batteries, and most don’t even need a pencil and paper. Check ’em out and enjoy!
2 Minute List
One player names a category. Examples could be Disney movies, Disney Villains, Disney Princesses, Disney rides, the category can be anything really. All of the players name things in that group, receiving one point for each item they named. There is a 2 minute limit. The player with the most points after 2 minutes wins.
20 Questions
One player things of something Disney related. The other players have to guess what that is within 20 questions. The first question should be “Character, movie or ride?” After that the remaining 19 questions should ask one specific question that will give a clue as to what the answer is.
Character Word Sequence
One person names a Disney character. The next person names a character whose name begins with the last letter of the previously named character. For example, player 1 would say Ursula, player 2 would say Ariel, the next player would say Lilo, the next might say Owl, etc. If a player can’t think of a name they’re out. You keep playing until there is only one person left, and they are the winner.
Guess My Name
One player pretends to be a Disney character by imitating their habits, motions and facial expressions. They cannot say anything. The other players can ask yes or no questions to help them figure out who it is, with the person pretending answering only with a nod or shake of the head. The winner is the person that guesses correctly and they go next.
Guest List
This is a variation of the grocery store game you probably played as a child. The players are making a pretend guest list for a party at Disney. The first player would name a character whose name starts with the letter A. The second player would repeat that name and then add another that starts with the letter B. The game continues going one letter at a time. Players fall out of the game as they can’t recall character’s names. The winner is the player with the best memory.
Movie Word Stretch (best with paper)
One person names a Disney movie. Players have to make as many words as they can using the letters from the movie name.
Name That Tune
One player hums a Disney song. Other players take turns trying to guess the name of that song.
The Car Next Door
This is a fun group game. Find a car nearby and make up a funny story about the people inside it. Think of questions. Which Disney park are they going to? Why are they going? What rides will they go on? What hotel will they stay in? Where will they eat? What will they eat? Who will they see? Do any of them have magical talents? Each player contributes a couple of sentences and then the next player goes. It ends when everyone agrees to end it.
Who Am I?
This is a narrower version of 20 questions. One person thinks of a Disney character. They then start providing clues to the character’s identity one at a time, without giving it away. (Think things like hair, species, physical characteristic, talent, etc.) Players in the car can ask only yes or no questions about that character in order to guess who it is. The winner is the person that guesses in the least amount of turns.
Who Would Win?
Players agree on a type of contest, for example swimming race, skipping contest, etc. Then each player picks a Disney character and explains why their character would win the contest. There doesn’t have to be an official winner, or a winner could be selected if players are found to admit “yes you’re right my character would lose then”.
