Gumdrop iPhone Case Gumdrop iPhone Case

I have an iPhone 4s. I’ve had a protective case on it since the day I got it. I try to take care of my phones. The case I had had seen better days. It’s material had actually torn, and part of the edge cracked. So not only did it not look nice, it wasn’t giving all of the protection I wanted it to have. It was great timing when I was contacted and offered to review a new case for my phone.

I was offered the choice to select a case from Gumdrop Cases and Hardcandy Cases. Gumdrop Cases makes rugged cases for tech products like iPhones. Hardcandy Cases also makes cases but they are more stylish. Deciding what case to go with took some time, as there are a number of designs and patterns to choose from between the two companies. I wound up going with the Gumdrop because I liked the ruggedness of the Drop Tech case, and because I really liked the color combination of the pink and purple Drop Tech Designer case, they are my two favorite colors and I hadn’t seen one like that anywhere else.

I liked that the Gumdrop case came already assembled. No multiple layers to put together, just open the end and slide your phone into place inside the case. The case has a built in screen protector. I expected that I wouldn’t like the feel of using the touchscreen through the protector but actually it didn’t feel like there was a mile thick plastic covering there like I’ve experienced on some cases. Another note of interest on the screen, there was more of it visible and accessible using this case then my previous one, the screen seems a bit bigger. The outer edge has a small bumper built into it. I can easily get to all buttons and ports. At night I charge my phone on a dock, the bottom port is accessed by a flap that flips open. The phone can’t sit on the dock while in the case, but that isn’t an issue for me as I use a small adapter that enables me to let my phone sit on any dock while still in the case. The case hasn’t given me any problems and has held up well over the past week. I only dropped my phone once during that time and it was fine.

The Gumdrop Cases Drop Tech Designer Case retails for $44.95. It, and other Gumdrop products, arw available for purchase online.
Gumdrop Cases makes cases for mobile phones including iPhone, Samsung and HTC, as well as cases for iPads, iPods, Macbooks and tablets.
