Cornbread Dressing (that’s stuffing to Yankees) with Sausage and Apples, Yams Mousseline and Lalie’s Pumpkin Chiffon Pie are her own traditional family recipes, going back generations.

Dew offers a strategy for preparing the stress-free Thanksgiving meal so that both cook and guests will have the time to enjoy the day together. In recreating the ambiance of her childhood Thanksgivings in the South, she found that planning ahead is crucial. Dew includes recipes that can be made weeks ahead and frozen. With so many helpful tips and a beautifully designed package, this is a book to be treasured and savored.

There are no chapters in this book. The book contains a little more than a dozen recipes for traditional Southern food you would expect to find at a Thanksgiving dinner. The recipes are all written quite simply. The recipes do not include how many servings result. While this book does encourage making many of these recipes in advance, not knowing how many servings a recipe makes means that you’d need to follow a recipe once to find that out, then the second time you’d know. Cooking time is not listed on it’s own, you will need to read through a recipe to find out how long the cooking time is. Finally, there are no pictures in this book at all. This cookbook would be best for someone familiar with these dishes, in that they would not need photos or more detailed information in order to make them.
