I love meals that don’t call for a ton of ingredients. Even better when those meals are easy to make and are ready in a short time. This cookbook is chock full of meals that are intended to be exactly those things. The beginning of the cookbook offers suggestions for items to stock your pantry and kitchen with, as well as tips on how to save time in the kitchen. Then come the recipes.

Chapters include:

  • Hot Off The Grill
  • No-Cook Suppers
  • Pastas And Pizzas
  • Not Just For Breakfast
  • Dinner In A Dish
  • So Easy Sides
  • 3-Ingredient Desserts

I have to say that I really enjoy Southern Living cookbooks. They’re just so well put together. I have come to expect them to make me smile, and upon first going through this one that’s exactly what I did. This cookbook is jam packed with gorgeous color photos. There isn’t a single page that doesn’t have one or more photos. The recipe photos will make you want to eat for sure. They also make me want to try cooking the dish, which is why I find photos in a cookbook so important. The photos aren’t the only thing that make me smile. Each and every recipe includes prep and cooking time. There are all sorts of tips sprinkled generously throughout the book pertaining to substitutions, shopping, prep work and more. The only thing the cookbook doesn’t have that I wish it had is an index at the beginning of each chapter. I find them helpful in finding what I’m looking for quickly when time is an issue. This cookbook would be perfect for anyone interested in making quick meals in a hurry.
