The first three chapters offer helpful tips and tutorials on some of the most commonly asked questions regarding baking and decorating. Then come the recipes. The recipes are all written in easy to understand language with clear instructions. The ingredients are all ordinary things that you either have in your cabinets or can get at your local grocery store. Every recipe is accompanied by a gorgeous full-color photo of the dish. You will drool for sure! The recipes feature cooking and prep time right at the top, making it so easy to know if you have time to make something or not. This cookbook is as close to cookbook perfection as you can get, the only thing that could possibly improve it is if each chapter had its own index.

There are lots of recipes in this cookbook that I’m looking forward to trying including Lemon Curd-filled Angel Food Cupcakes, Chocolate Velvet Cupcakes, Swoon Pies, Lane Cake, Luscious Lemon Cake, Strawberries and Cream Cake, Fresh Strawberry Meringue Cake, Lemon Bar Cheesecake, Peach Upside-Down Cake, King Cake, Mexican Chocolate Pound Cake, and Glazed Lemon Pear Cake.

Southern Living has once again surpassed themselves with this cookbook. This cookbook would be perfect for anyone that enjoys baking, eating baked goods, or entertaining.

What’s your favorite kind of cake? Please leave a comment, I’d really like to know!
