These mouthwatering dishes will turn family suppers into celebrations—Italian style! Nothing entices people to the table like Italian cuisine, whether it’s classic lasagna or a repertoire-expanding choice like Asparagus-Fontina Pizzettes with Bacon. Some of the 185 recipes are no-fuss timesavers, others require a little more love and attention, but every one has been triple tested for ease, reliability, and great taste.
Try these for your Italian home feast:
- Tomato and Mozzarella Bites o Chicken Pasta Primavera
- Baked Cavatelli with Sausage o Seared Scallops with Olive and Tomato Compote

The beginning of this book contains helpful information about frequently used ingredients, mainly what they are, what the differences are between them, and how to pick them. Then come the recipes.
There are one to two recipes on each page, depending on the length and complexity of the recipe. Mixed amongst recipes are bite sized sections containing notes about particular ingredients, such as when they are available, different varieties, how to pick them, and how to store them. The recipes are all pretty straightforward and easy to understand. Aside from ingredients and instructions, the recipes also contain nutritional information and prep and cooking time. There are many colorful photos scattered throughout the book. There are one to two recipes on each page, depending on the length and complexity of the recipe. As there are so many recipes in this book, and as there are often multiple recipes on a page, the only suggestion that I have for future editions would be the inclusion of an index at the beginning of each chapter.
There are a lot of recipes in this cookbook that I’m looking forward to trying, especially Pasta e Fagioli with Sausage, Crustless Tomato Ricotta Pie, Penne alla Vodka, Ricotta Gnocchi with Brown Butter and Fresh Herbs, Pasta e Fagioli Bake, Easy Pea Risotto, Chicken with Pears and Marsala, and Bold Berry Granita.
This cookbook would be perfect for anyone interested in expanding their recipe index or learning more about Italian cooking.

I love Italian food. I'll be honest though, my first flip through the cookbook would find the desserts section. :D
