I took dance lessons when I was a child. I took several years of tap and a couple of jazz. My Mom would send me downstairs to practice every day. There was a point in time where the routine we were working on was to the Eric Clapton song “I Shot The Sheriff”. I didn’t always feel like practicing for 30 – 60 minutes. All right, I never felt like it. So I decided to outsmart my Mom. I put the record on and let it play while I read. I loved having the time to read, but I hated listening to that song over and over and over again. To this day I can’t stand that song. Anyway. I got away with that for almost a week. I don’t even remember how she figured it out, but she did.
Now that I think about it, it’s no wonder I can’t dance.
