Red Velvet Peppermint Kiss Cookies

Nordicware Aluminum Baker’s Half Sheet (2Pk)
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted sweet cream butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tablespoon red food coloring
- 1/2 cup red sanding sugar
- 24-36 peppermint bark hershey kisses, unwrapped

Instructions
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees f.
Using a standing mixer, cream together the butter, sugar and brown sugar
Add in the egg and vanilla and mix until combined
Add in the red food coloring and mix until combined
In a large bowl, mix the flour and cocoa powder until combined.
Using a small ice cream scoop, scoop out the dough and roll into a ball
Roll the cookie dough into the red sanding sugar and place onto the cookie sheet
Repeat steps for 11 more cookies
Bake in the oven for 10 minutes
Once cookies are baked, let cool for 2 minutes before placing a hershey kiss in the center
Repeat steps with remaining dough
Let cookie sit for 20 minutes to cool completely.
